iPad not detected by pc at all

My i pad started playing up a few weeks ago with not charging battery when connected to my laptop. Now it doesn't detect anything when I plug it into any of the USB's. I have tried all I can find on the web, hard reset, re install i tunes, make sure any drivers are working, ensure the apple mobile app is on, it is not showing on the pc full stop. It works fine as a pad but won't be able to sync it. Any advice welcome.

We've had a few members with similar problems and it turned out to be a faulty cable. I'm sure you're aware that a PC won't really charge an iPad - a normal USB port on a PC can only supply 500 mA whereas the iPad charger provides 2A - four times as much. However, a PC does very slowly charge the iPad. However, from what you say, it does appear as though a faulty cable (it's usually the connector) might be the problem. If you've an Apple Store nearby, it might be worth taking your iPad down there and 'borrowing' a cable briefly to see if that makes a difference.

I have tried 4 cables and they all work with my other ipad as well. The problematic one charges at the wall fine just isn't recognised by any pc.
