I recently reformatted my computer (Windows 7 PC), and I've been having trouble with iTunes. I wasn't able to get iTunes to detect my iPhone/iPad. However, I have searched this internet and found out that if I stop, then start Apple Mobile Device in Services it would detect my iPhone/iPad, and it does. But I have to do this every time I turn on my computer. I never had to do this before. Is there any way I can get iTunes to detect my iPhone/iPad without going through Services every time? And yes, I've un-installed and re-installed iTunes.

The only thing I can think of here - did you make sure that you've got the Auto-Start portion of Apple Mobile Device turned on? I know, it's the obvious question, but, just in case...

You wouldn't by chance have any VMWare running in windows. If so shut it down. VMWare and iTunes don't like each other.

You can check to see if the services are set to start on boot. Click Start then run msconfig. Check the startup to see if the apple stuff are unchecked. If they are then check them and save then reboot. See if that fixes the problem. If they are checked, then there is another problem. I would uninstall iTunes then reinstall it and reboot. That is all I can think of at present
