What happens when you connect the iPad to iTunes on your computer? Is it recognized?

Did anything unusual show on the display just before it shut down?

Please let us know if the device 'shut down' after the battery was completely exhausted?

Hard reset will bring it back to life.

If not familiar w/ the maneuver, hold down the ON-OFF & HOME buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, release both buttons, and let the iPad reboot - Dave :)

Glad that helped Maisie. Don't forget that in this forum, most things can be solved, just give enough information and then someone will help.

Think of it as going to the Dr's when you are unwell. Unless you tell the Dr all your symptoms, they can't make a diagnosis.

I agree, plus it's best to describe in as much detail as possible what you've done, and the results of what you've done, because we aren't there looking over your shoulder to see what's happening.
