Ipad Air 5TH Gen Recovery Mode

So my daughters IPad went a bit funny the other night and asked to be connected to a pc. I have done so and i have tried many times to restore and factory reset. It will get to the end of the "restore" both on PC and the IPad itself but when the bar is almost at the end, it will give me "Error 9" which indicates its been "disconnected" As many of you probably already know it wasnt disconnected as it was down to the Timeout.

Is there any ways to force the ipad to install the OS version without it timing out?
