ipad 2 screen going blue

every time i switch the ipad the screen turns blue and then goes blank...this has happened ever since the last update from apple

Try a hard reset of the iPad : Press and hold home and power button for 10-20 seconds until Apple logo appears. You will not loose any data.

nothing whatsoever ...just that its gone completely dead now

Maybe hardware damage. You should make a full diagnostic run of the iPad at the nearest Apple store. If it is under warranty, you get a free replacement, if its hardware issue.

i repeated what you said once again abd the apple sign came for a flash and gone ...is there anything that needs to be done after

Oh... So now even that blue screen doesn't appear?

Try slapping your iPad from the back, quite hard though. It helps 9/10 times.
