Invisible over wifi

Since updating my iPad3 to iOS8, iTunes on my iMac does not see it over wifi. I can only sync via USB cable, and when I unplug the cable the iPad disappears from iTunes. Ideas?

Maybe you have to set up WiFi syncing from scratch again?

After more research, it appears this is a very common problem. There are several workarounds, all of which involve restarting the iPad. Simply restarting works...for awhile. Presumably, one of these days Apple will fix this annoying bug.
