Congratulations on your anniversary! May you have many more.
The smaller one is called "Tenorhorn" in Bb. I couldn’t find an English expression for it. It belongs to the saxhorn family. The other one is a helicon.OK Johanna - obviously brass instruments - I'm thinking euphonium, sousaphone, and/or other - any help?Dave

We have marching competition today, so we were rehearsing last evening. I'm playing the flute, and when we're standing or sitting in "concert formation", they are behind us flutes, which means I hear them quite often. I like their soft, low sound. It sounds almost the same as an euphonium. Thanks - probably a bunch of different names in different languages - not sure if the 'saxhorn' is related to the saxophone family, which are single reed instruments, so not the same - BUT, unimportant, the horns look great - did you get a chance to hear them? Dave![]()
You're right. It sounds a bit higher than a bass tuba. The small one almost looks like a small tuba.
