Lol....that is a great cartoon! :D

I hope you and your wife have had a great holiday period!

Hi Leelai - well back into the lower 40Fs today w/ no precipitation - more like normal for this time of the year - hey, but you're in the 'summer' at the moment - just curious but what is 'summer' weather like in Brisbane? Dave :)

Being in the Sunshine State of Queensland we have tropical weather, hot and humid and only last week broke many temp records in many areas. Thank goodness that's changed! ;)

I'm on the Gold Coast right now in Surfers Paradise. It's a very cloudy day but very nice on the beach (where we've just been) 25°C at 2pm Brisbane where I live is under an hour's drive up the coast but it will be a degree or 2 warmer there.

Wouldn't have minded some of your weather last week when we were sweltering here! ;)

Well, I was reading the magazine Preservation (from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, i.e. USA) and there was a beautiful pic of a North Carolina Lighthouse that I had visited - takes a boat ride and is one of the handful of brick lighthouses on the NC coast that are distinctly painted w/ black & white patterns - this one is diamonds!

Cape Lookout Lighthouse & National Seashore near historic Beaufort, NC - a short drive to Harker's Island and then a quick speed boat ride over to Cape Lookout (see map below) - the boat docks to the right of the second photo w/ a short walk to the lighthouse - on our last visit, we took a guided jeep tour w/ a naturalist who explained a lot about the seashore there - turtle nesting grounds are a major issue - but I need to return to my thread on the Carolina Coast and maybe talk about the NC lighthouses - Dave :)

The observation deck/tower in Vila Vita Pannonia at night <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=52321"/> <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=52322"/> Not enhanced :-)

That looks like a very nice place to be!

It's beautiful up there. From the observation deck, which is outside, you can see Lange Lacke not far away. It's spectacular at night, when it's raining and the lights of the cars are reflected by the wet road.

It sounds very lovely.....I love sitting at night looking out on a rain swept night.

And I've just looked up Lange Lacke also......that would be just beautiful looking out over that!

How do you eat that?

I am not sure, this is the first time I've seen this. Going to the library today to see what I can find, may have to go back and get some if I find any interesting ideas.

I know I can just look it up online, but still love the library experience, makes it more of an adventure :)
