Hi TP - beautiful poem and quite accurate as to the live oaks, marshes, and sense of blending he describes - I don't know much about him but he was born in Macon, GA and likely was quite familiar w/ the Carolina-Georga coastal area - the Airlie Gardens (not a large place) has a wonderful collection of live oaks w/ some of the MOST Spanish moss that I've seen on these trees - one is known as the Airlie Oak (couple more pics below of that tree which is over 400 years old - was probably a youngster when the 'Lost Colony' was briefly in place on Roanoke Island, coastal NC - mid-1580s). Thanks for the link - Dave :)

Beautiful images (pictures & the poems).
Closest I've seen to that is the Carolina forest zone on the north shore of Lake Erie. There's a beautiful stretch of 'Live Oak' at the very tip of highway 59 south. There's a 2 mile long causeway separating a bay and a marsh, with a spectacular canopy.

No problem. He was a central historical theme in a science fiction book I read during my brief stent at college; Macroscope by Piers Anthony. On a whim I did my term paper on him. He was also one of the inspirations in my attempts to write more serious poetry later in life.

This is what happens when your dog insists I'm going for a midnight stroll.

Here's what welcomed me on my walk to the blood donor clinic this morning. <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=49787"/> <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=49788"/>
Not really a warm welcome.
November has started, so I hope you're ready to fight against masses of snow again. Winter seems to announce it's return.

I got a new guitar yesterday, a Gretsch Junior Jet G5215, note the selfie :)

the Plymouth Fury is an amazing car, though they're rare ! really rare at that, That is why I am getting a 1958 Savoy

Very nice!! I've never played a Gretsch (really would love to play a Country Gentleman or a White Falcon with a Bigsby some day), but I have an old black guitar too, unfortunately mine doesn't get played anymore. Don't be cruel to that guitar of yours, keep playing it!

Sure, hey may I have that black one you've got? If it is a Fender I want it haha I've been gassing for a Fender for ages, I'm thinking of trading my LTD for one, the standard Strats are worth the same ballpark as the LTD I've got, I started on an Ashton electric, and I don't have it anymore lol I wish I did so I could bring it up again and play it,I always play my guitars, and so far I have never put the Gretsch down ! And I can try and pay the cost of shipping for that black guitar you've got, Z :) I like black

For 'Guitar Lovers'! My BIL owns and plays all sorts of guitars - he's been collecting them for decades - in a recent visit (he lives w/ my MIL in Montauk, LI - posted in the travel thread), my wife (i.e. his sister) took some pics of his collection (2 attached below) - she is taking guitar lessons locally and her 'young' teacher was curious about the collection - bought her a steel string Masterbilt Epiphone at he Gibson guitar factory/store in Memphis, TN a few years back. Hope you enjoy - Dave :)

Well, below several more pics of my wife's new Masterbilt Epiphone steel stringed guitar - a pic from the web & one from a corner of our living room showing the guitar along w/ her two Celtic harps - the larger one is a handmade Caswell (from California) - Dave :)
