Hey Scifan.. - looks like the grey squirrel, i.e. the same species that lives in my yard - Just curious about its geographic range - looks like from the red on the map below that extends into Canada all along the the border with the USA.

When I was growing up in northern Ohio/southern Michigan, my grandfather was a hunter depending on the season, and squirrel was one animal he and his buddies brought back for my grandmother to skin and cook - that back leg had the best meat and as I recall tasted like rabbit, which Susan has cooked for me a number of times.
