Last night i sybced my iPad 2 for the first time to a laptop, then I upgraded to iOS 5.1 and finally backed up to iCloud. Now i have lost over 50 apps purchased from the App Store and a dozen songs purchased from iTunes on my iPad. Can these be recovered? If so, how? will this happen every time I do these functions.

HELP!!!

HELP!!!

Either on your iPad or via iTunes, visit the App Store and re-download those apps and songs. Once you have paid for them, they are yours permanently and can be downloaded and reinstalled to your iPad whenever you wish.

If you download apps or songs from the App Store using your iPad, the best thing to do in the future is to connect your iPad to iTunes and do a "transfer purchases" (right click on the iPad line in the left side column). This will transfer your purchases over to iTunes and ensure that iTunes has them loaded (and marked as being on your iPad). This should keep iTunes up-to-date with what's on your iPad.

Hope this helps. And, welcome to the forum!
