I'll be picking up the iPad 2 in a few weeks. I've been researching cases like crazy. I'm very particular about this sort of thing. I want something that doesn't block the camera connection kit and isn't leather. I was in the process of making a post in the Accessories forum with my research and links to the cases I've looked at, but it said I have to make 3 posts before I can post links, so here's one of them! Please see my thread in Accessories or just post here if you have advice about non-leather cases that work well with the camera connection kit. Fake leather is okay.

There are many threads regarding cases on the forums so it really shouldn't be necessary to post links, just use the search function.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

I only have the Smartcover, so I can't really help you there. Soon I'm going to research cases though because I want to ask for one for Christmas.
