Hi

I do not own any Apple products, and that is why I just sought out a forum.

I sell pdf ebooks and a customer asked me if he could read them on his iPad. I did a brief bit of research and read that you can easily read pdfs in the browser - ideal as I host them online for download via a web link.

But, he struggled to take if offline. I researched this and found no solution - obviously a bit tricky as I do not have an ipad to play with.

So. two questions (these probably belong in a new entry ...)

1. Is there a simple way, maybe an App (hopefully free) to save a pdf that you are reading in a browser?

2. I there a file format that I should provide for Apple tablet / phone users? Do not really want to put it into a format that can be edited though.

If I need to ask this again in a proper place let me know and I will shift it.

Many thanks,

Jon.

Any PDF will work on the iPad. It can be received from an email or downloaded from a web page, it does not really matter.

You can even put your PDF directly in iBook or any other app that supports a shared folder thru iTunes.

Any PDFs can be viewed and saved into iBook for later reading... Just don't worry, the iPad, or any iOS devices will handle those files easily.

Vicopad addick!

I read PDFs all the time on my iPads. The retina screen makes fonted PDFs look very, very nice. I'm not a big fan of using iBooks for my PDFs because it will not let you back them up. There are several very good tools for viewing, editing, and presenting PDFs on iPad. Well worth the money, IMO.
