Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Although I have not seen anything official 'reliable sources' have indicated that the iPad2 will cost the same as the old iPad1 prior to the recent discounts. Of course, there will undoubtedly be 'bundled' deals eventually from the mobile broadband service providers after the initial 'wave' of purchasing frenzy has died down. As you will see too, the iPad1 has been heavily discounted and, in addition, you can get 'refurbished' units even cheaper. These may turn out to be a very good deal because they come with a full Apple warranty and are cosmetically indistinguishable from new. Indeed, there have been reports of unscrupulous dealers selling these refurbished units *as* new so, if you choose the new iPad1 route make sure you only buy from a reputable dealer.

You will seen the extensive discussion on this Forum of iPad1 versus iPad2. Clearly it depends on your budget and your intended applications. I have given the links to the iPad1 and iPad2 manuals below - both are free, so download them and compare and decide which model would suit your individual needs.

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free from

Also the iPad2 manual is available at the Apple iBooks store. It’s free too.

Hello SuperSteve1 and welcome to the forum! Not sure about the prices, but like Tim, I was under the impression the price was not going to change from the iPad1 original prices to the iPad2. (course, they have reduced the iPad1 prices). I hope you are able to get one as they are the coolest devices ever! Again, welcome!
