No to swimming today!! I need this weekend to re-energize my beat up polar bear body! Monday and Tuesday I will swim. Then I have officially completed my polar bear challenge!! Woo Hoo! My body is beat up, but, dang, I'm looking really good (if I do say so myself!)!! Lol! We were talking about Barbie, but not THAT Barbie the other day. Do you remember Malibu Barbie and Malibu Skipper? They were part of the "Tan" Barbie collection! Hahaha!

I don't remember the Malibu Barbies, not sure if we had them in SA. But I do have one that looks like she hangs out at the beach, and an ordinary Skipper. Dreadful picture, i'm afraid. My photographer is building a marble run. He wanted to do "blokey" things today, and photographing Barbies doesn't quite cut it!

I recognize all but the one right next to Skipper! I had some Barbies who had wigs. The second from the right looks similar to those who had wigs. My mom had lovely hair, but she wore a wig for awhile because that is what women did!! I'm sure this was the same time Mattel came out with the wig Barbie! She had a brunette "scalp"!! Lol!

The one next to Skipper is a bit of a hussy! She is a recent addition to my collection. The "wig" one, brunette sister to the blonde currently adorning the Christmas tree, is an early one, I think I got them in about 1970, but don't tell anyone because it sounds positively ancient! The one on the far right is missing an arm, which I have somewhere and need to get it attached. She has bendy arms and legs, and movable ankles and wrists. I also have a spare head, of the same type, don't know how that happened!

I'd like to propose shoes for a future avatar theme, and I'll photograph all the Barbie shoes!

P.S. I have a blue tile in LP - think I'm in with a chance!

Agh! Who picked hair, and what did I do to deserve this??? Carolyn you have lovely, shiny pretty hair, and Anthea - my God, those curls are gorgeous! Me, I'm in desperate need of a trip to the salon, and absolutely no time to go until the new year . I will not be posting my hair pic till it's sorted out......which means it's Jack time!

The temp here today is nearly 40 degrees C. Step 1. For keeping cool and sane.frequent dips in pool. Step 2 .don't bother to wash or dry hair between dips. Step3 let hair dry naturally .Step 4. repeat step. 1-3 . Result hair that looks just like DOG hair ,so take picture of dog hair . Jennifer.

Now THAT I can relate to!!! Stupid Malibu Barbie!! I HATE her!!!! Her expensive stylists came in with color touch-up, fancy hair products, and an awesome blow dry after her "Malibu" photo shoot and "Baywatch" read-thru (which she didn't get that part!!! Hahah, Barbie!!!!).

Hey, Val!! Some hair you're sporting there!!!

Growing up, my best friend was half "black" and half "white" (no offense to anyone-her words). She rocked the Fro world! Me with my straight blonde locks and her with her black Fro! She was a foot shorter than me and had quite the pair of curves! What a combo platter we were!!!
Well, you can't see her curves in the shot, but you can see the height difference!! . This was Junior High School!!! Oh, Samantha, I sewed the blouse I am wearing!!!! Another "hidden talent" of mine!!!! Lol! If only life were so funny!!!!!!!

That is too hot, we had 35 degrees yesterday in Melbourne and that was way too hot for me!
