HayDay Friends Off-Topic

Ha! How cool :). Where in the UK were you? I'm from a weeny little place near Cambridge that no one's ever heard of, how about you? I can't imagine what you must sound like, lol, such a mix of influences in there :). There's not a day that goes by that someone doesn't ask me if I'm from Australia, lol! Makes me crazy, not because I have anything against Aussies, but why can't people tell the difference? Hehehe! One day, when you're bored you'll have to PM me your life story - it must be really interesting :) (And I'm nosey :D) GC: EyeC999 Level 83

I'm pretty much like Anthea in that I didn't start off in the UK either lol My Dad was in the army so I was born in Singapore, then moved to Germany, then East Africa and then finally the UK. we ended up in Totteridge in North London and whilst I was at a wedding in Tewkesbury I met and fell in love with a Dutchman!! I'd rather be in Australia than the Netherlands though :( the weather here is crap :)

These global challenge things are sooooooo rigged its ridiculous ...either that or people really have too much time and money on their hands!! The latest event has only been going for a few hours yet the "top" contributors are already in the thousands!! Who can produce 2250 woolen products in such a short time without using hundreds if not thousands of diamonds and why would you do that if the reward is just 5 measly diamonds!! People are mad !!

I was in London, mostly in West Hampstead. Australians think I sound South African and Brits think I sound Australian. Nobody thinks I sound British! I have definitely picked up the Australian intonation, it's hard not to, when you're surrounded by it. I catch myself talking in questions? Like, all the time? And I try to stop myself? But I just can't? :)

Are you getting that parse error notification? So, frustrating! I know Laura also got that, I can't remember if she got help from the forum peeps or not. I can put in a different pic and that one will work. I tried to change my avatar to my angel and whether I took it from camera or use previous photo, I got that parse error notification.

YES!! Lol that used to. Happen to me a long time ago and Laura told me to change my settings and it worked so I could change it again but it started up again and now nothing makes it go away :/

Who has a great eggnog recipe? Is eggnog a Christmas tradition in your family? If so, did you have an adult eggnog bowl and a kids eggnog bowl? I grew up with a no booze eggnog version. My Dad was a Baptist pastor! I had no clue people put booze in it!! I would talk on and on about how much I loved eggnog! I always got the strangest looks!!! :). So mom's recipe was eggs (whites whipped up) vanilla, sugar, whipped cream doll up on top with a dash of nutmeg sprinkled on top! My mom would put what was left over back in the milk carton. We kids would sneak a drink or two from the carton when mom wasn't looking!! :) Last year, I looked up Paula Dean's recipe. It has I think rum in it. YUMMY! I will make that again this year. Of course, with a kids version as well!! I also make wassail (non alcoholic) for Christmas Day. Warmed apple cider, sugar, cinnamon sticks, a softened orange with decorative cloves pushed in the rind, a little allspice. Mmm! Big hit over here!!

We had our nog from a carton, lol. It was a Christmas treat and the folks put rum in theirs. We got nutmeg on top too. I'm such a weirdo...I have an allergic reaction to dairy now - when I have too much in the day. I had a warm cup of nog 3 nights ago and got itchy allover. Nog from a carton must have lots of dairy in it, right? Not a very pleasant couple of hours, ha, ha. I have never had home made! GC: pristoph ......... HD Level 52 (making candy!!)......DV Level 32

I love egg nog but I also only had it from a carton, I bet homemade is soooo much better, I might try to make it myself now :)

Love this! GC: EyeC999 Level 83

Thank you :-)

I would rather pay for each run, like a few diamonds each time he runs an errand. That way you don't feel you are losing out while away from the game for hours! GC iluvbree lvl 109 I don't accept random FR's

This is SUCH a good idea!!

Sweet pic Laura! GC: pristoph ......... HD Level 52 (making candy!!)......DV Level 32

Thank you Val :-)

Thanks Laura I really missed it Sent from my iPad 3 using iPF bribri070385 level 67 :D

I missed it when I wasn't here too. It's been much busier than it was a while back. It's getting better now, but I guess lots are busy for Christmas etc.

Ive had enough idea.. What do you guys think In games messaging? Like we can leave little messages or notes on people's farms, maybe asking if they have something we need, wanna be friends, or general game questions :) Id love a message area in the game.. Would make it easier for people who dont use these forums

I thought about this idea a lot, so many have asked for it and I wasn't really sure why if I personally felt it was necessary since people have found many other ways to communicate. They're using supercell forum, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and this place.. there's two issues I can see, and I think they're pretty big ones.

Firstly, I think the game will end up being full of spam/spam bots, auto-messaging random people all day. That would drive me nuts. I guess this wouldn't be an issue if they included a way for us to switch off messaging if we wanted to, or to block people. Now it sounds more like a messaging service than a game, lol.

Secondly, do supercell want to draw masses of traffic away from their forum by eradicating the reason they go there?

I loved your last ideas, especially the one about Tom running hourly! And it's good to see you back here again too!

Lovely angels KJ! Welcome back Bri! Lovely pic Laura, brings back memories. :) Chumleyboo, level 75

Thank you Anthea :-)

Thank you :) it's good to be back Hey is anyone having trouble changing their pictures? Sent from my iPad 3 using iPF bribri070385 level 71 :D

It's a nightmare with the pics at times. If I'm struggling with a particular one and I really wanna use it, sometimes I go to the pic in my camera roll (large version, not thumbnail) and screenshot it, then crop the screenshot and use the new one. Sometimes it works because this app recognises it as a new image, even though it's just a new photo of the one we originally wanted to use :-)

Ain't life funny? You never know where you'll end up, or with whom :) So cool that you've had a chance to see a bit of the world, though!
Speaking of seeing a bit of the world....this is the bit of the world I saw when I opened my front door this morning....brrrrrrr!!!!!

Snow!!! We had rain during the night, but the sky is clear and brilliantly blue! There might be snow on the San Gabriel mountain range (Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead). I didn't realize you lived amongst trees! How pretty! :)

I'm on my way! Firing up the Leer as we speak ;) GC: EyeC999 Level 83

I missed this one somehow!!

Love it! I'll make a double batch! Is your Mr. J joining you? Maybe I'll triple the batch!! We can give your pilot some to drink after he safely flies you back home :)

Yeah, it's not all mine, unfortunately....it's a green belt "nature preserve" that is directly outside my apt - gorgeous and heavenly and peaceful - full of squirrels, but also a bit dark and spidery!! Depends on the time of year! Today - full of snow :o
