I'm looking through Squeeze's song list. There is one called "Christmas Day"!! I've never heard it before, but rather interesting that I see it right before Christmas!!
My favourite Christmas songs are probably a rather long list, as is any list of mine containing my favourite music.. I actually listen to these songs all year round. lol..
But, I guess top songs for me would be O Holy Night (Mariah Carey's version literally does bring me to my knees, but for very different reasons than the song suggests). I also love the choir version from Home Alone.
Do You Hear What I Hear by Whitney Houston
Who Would Imagine a King - Whitney Houston (Preacher's Wife movie/soundtrack. You gotta listen to this song)
A Spaceman Came Travelling by Chris de Burgh
When a Child Is Born by Johnny Mathis
I Love the Lord by Whitney Houston (not sure if it's a Christmas song or a hymn, it's on Preacher's Wife OST. See that movie if you can. Amazing!)
Miss You Most at Christmas Time by Mariah Carey
Actually, Mariah Carey's entire Merry Christmas album is fabulous, it has a really great blend of traditional Christmas songs/carols, and some original tracks. It also combines some funky, upbeat "make you wanna dance at Christmas parties" tunes with a number of tracks that just ooze a very authentic gospel presence. The choir and harmonies are fabulous and provoke goosebumps without fail, and MC was truly in her prime when this album was released ---- almost twenty years ago!!!
Sorry, rambling..
