It is probably best to ask in advance!

It's up to you. As far as I'm concerned I expect things to be sold full price when you are asking for something. (if I were to ask for 3 carrot cakes or whatever full price is assumed).

For trades even trades for building supplies or whatever I do default price because it is easier. If you're trading 5 planks for 5 tapes and they are both the same price so it doesn't really matter as long as both people put it as the same.

Some people sell things outright for default price, but that is up to the person selling.
