How do you send a boat away? Just ignore it? Or can you tell it to leave?

Tap on the boat in the bottom right corner before you fill any crates. If you fill even one, its too late. I sent my last three boats away empty because they asked for syrup, cheese, and goat cheese.

I only learnt that after I surpassed level 50
I always filled all my boats before that lol
And back then there were no help signs available
