Hay Day Discussion and Game Help Thread (NO FRIEND REQUESTS)

Well I don't actually fully agree with that as the boxes are the only way there is for people to collect building materials and saws, axes, dynamite and shovels. If there were different ways to get those(except from planting and harvesting enermous amounts of crops to just get a few) it wouldn't have been such a bad change, but now it will be really hard to find this stuff and you really need them. Also they won't be much for sale anymore as people will needany last one of them theirselves, and therefore the newspaper will contain even less valuable materials.

So, if tey can come up with a better way to find these things(maybe buying them at your docks and getting them by boat shipments) then it's a good thing boxes are getting rare.

Of course boxes should be rare, and bugs must be fixed. (100 boxes a day? that's just ridiculous anyways. I'm glad they fixed it.)
If everyone gets everything for free (especially diamonds) without end then how exactly do you think the company is going to pay the game devs, advertisement fees, server fees a.s.f.?
Better to have no players and shut down the project than losing money on it!

(Don't get me wrong, I like free stuff and do not spend my money on in-game purchases, except what I earned from Juno Wallet maybe. And no, I'm not a game dev myself. But we gotta be realistic here.)

I don't think anyone here is expecting to have the boxes back with the glitch intact, but they have swung the pendulum to the other extreme here. Taking away the diamonds in the boxes and also pretty much taking away the boxes themselves have totally turned me off the game.

I think people have more of things than others. Like I have at lease 25 screws and duck tapes! But I desperately need bolts and nails! I wish the iPad forum would have a thread that you can put friend requests. I'm new to this website so I don't know what to do! If anyone knows a thread where you can put friend requests please tell me!!

There's a friend request thread for this game in the friends request forum.

Ok, I have read through several posts on their FB page and their is quite a fuss over this. The official word is, they don't know what we are talking about and things as far as they know are "working normally". BUT, they did indicate that they were looking into the issue. I am hoping, that they will see such a fuss, and add a few extra boxes to be found. If they are smart, they will. Obviously, it will never be like it was, and I don't think anyone expects that, but this every few hours thing is a little extreme especially since the newspaper doesn't work right and is useless.

On the other hand, they also did say they are working on some expansions... Yay! For those of us that have ran out of new things, I know this will be welcomed. They did not say a time frame, only that they were coming.

Hello All,

I noticed that if you buy diamonds then you get a box that you can open for free. Maybe that is supposed to be a reward for spending cash. Ha ha! I guess they want our money for playing the game. I get it now. I don't know if I will keep on paying or not, but I am not able to buy diamonds all the time.

100 meaning times or 1000 nails you will need?

It's means the barn and the silo are able to upgrade to 1000 items in each. For an example of how many things you need - my barns next expansion is from 950 to 975 and it needs- 37 bolts, 37 planks and 37 duct tape. So when I've collected the 20 more planks I need ( which will take forever now) I will be able to hold 975 items in my barn.

Hayday WAS around the 70's in top free iPad charts a few days ago.. It's now 127.. Wonder if they're going to actually changes the box features back. They should.

What you're saying is correct, however, misses the point somewhat. The complaint is not just that the tool boxes have disappeared, taking the diamonds with them, but the building materials, too. Honestly, whose going to spend about fifteen real bucks buying diamonds to upgrade their barn, just so's it has 25 extra capacity? That's what it would cost me right now if I wanted to upgrade. Or, I can slave and scrape and wait and hunt and hoard until I've come up with them myself. That'd be somewhere around thanksgiving! It was not "easy" to get everything you needed via the boxes, it still took time and a few days, but it was POSSIBLE! I am as frustrated as all the other players about the new changes. And we have a voice - I for one don't download apps with bad reviews, ever. So Supercell is going to lose money from others like me who will go find another app without the bother.

Right now, the players having fun are the ones who don't know what is ahead for them in the game. Soon enough they'll hit the same wall as the rest of us. There has to be a middle ground where everything is not free, but at least attainable somehow. I'm not asking for 100 boxes a day, but how about more than the 2 I get now?

I'm sure the game ranking isnt dropping because of the boxes everyone here seems to be so overly upset about. I never exploited the box bug and both my barn and silo are at 600, which isnt too bad at all. See when people upgrade everything so fast, they start complaning 2 weeks after each update that there is nothing left to do...
I cannot be the only one who sees this?

I agree with you. :)

We're always going to run out of "new things". Unfortunately, the amount of items retrieved from the boxes during the glitch allowed most people to level up their silo and barn capacities, their production queues, and their coins at a rapid rate. It was like an arcade game. Well this is a time management game. You're not suppose to level up fast. Most of us are probably much farther in the game than we should be because of the past frequent availability of red boxes. You're suppose to play for a long time otherwise you run out of "new things"....within a month or two no less. Then you're bored. Once the update takes place you'll be bored again after acquiring the new things, especially if the red box functionality returns anywhere near what it use to be.

Why not change how you play the game or change the game you play?

When your barn gets full, sell items and complete orders. That's what your suppose to do anyway, regardless of capacity. I was hoarding items at one point until I changed how I play. You cannot find diamonds to expand your production queue slots? Good. Play the game more frequently. Fewer slots means more interactivity if you want to keep your production going regularly. Diamonds are given when achievements are completed. Complete the achievements.
