Hay Day Discussion and Game Help Thread (NO FRIEND REQUESTS)

I have many neighbors and takes me a while to visit all of them. Curious, has anyone seen a box? I visited all my neighbors and not even a single box, not even in my followers! Is this a punishment? Or a bug? And I've been playing for some time today.....

According to their FaceBook page, they "fixed" the boxes to how they are suppose to be. Problem is, everyone liked it better the way it was. *sigh*. Hopefully they will realize, this has not been a popular change, and do something about it, but since they haven't done anything about the unpopular dying trees, who knows if they will. :(

The boxes are present. They simply aren't running rampant. I doubt if the ability to open numerous amounts of boxes and collect an obscene amount of items at once was part of their design specifications. It was a bug. Most took advantage while it lasted, including myself. It seems to be fixed now. Congrats to them.

I visited five farms prior to this post. Three of them have boxes.

Sometimes they're playing peek-a-boo....

Sometimes you need x-ray vision. See the sparkles...there's a box there.

Sometimes they're easy to see....

The box on my farm is hidden behind my house frequently. I see it because of the sparkles.

Hi. If the boxes are gone how are we going to get cash and diamonds, etc. This is a lousy game if you can't get what you need. How can you do this to us players.

Write to them and let you know how you feel. :). I think if they hear from enough people, they will do something about it. Right now they say the boxes show up every few hours (according to FB page) and that is not enough since we have no way of buying and selling directly with each other and the newspaper is screwed up. Diamonds are to hard to earn the natural way (and too many things depend on them) and they are too easily spent, so there is no real way to save them. I wrote to them just a bit ago with some suggestions and critisms. I don't know if it will help or not, but they need to hear from us.

I am at the point where I will probably stop playing soon. I can't expand my land and it is filled up. I don't dare harvest all of my fruit, because I won't have enough saw and hatchets to cut them down and without the boxes, I don't have a good way of replacing those. I have no new things to buy except more decorations, but again, I have no space to put them. They need to upgrade soon or they will start loosing the higher up fans.

Well, if the developers are reading, then they need to read that all of these changes are going to make them loose players! The game has gotten less fun over the last few days. Instead of concentrating their efforts on making the boxes the harder to find, they should be putting their efforts into adding more production machines, more veggies to grow, more food to produce, more animals to get more fruit trees and bushes to grow, more things to decorate our farms with and most of all a way to enlarge are farms! If they have fun stuff to entice the game players with, there will be a certain percentage that buys diamonds and gold. The more popular the game is, the more of those percentage they will have, but if they alienate their players, the game will loose popularity pretty quickly. Developers, bring back the boxes... They are needed in the game. Make it easier to earn diamonds, not harder to keep the interest up!

Agree. I'm playing less as the interest has gone from the game with the latest changes. I was looking forward to baking apple or cherry pies! What about berry yoghurt?
Also, I'd rather get less xp or coins but not have to wait 15 hours to produce a bar. Too much waiting, not enough being busy around the farm and little point visiting the neighbors as boxes are either inexistant or locked.

*grumble grumble*.

I just bought 10 stupid eggs and bacon while trying to scroll over further in someone's farm stand!

Please make it so you don't have to scroll over to view all items!

If you want to start a thread to isolate information, feel free to do so. Try to make your title very specific, and outline in the lead post exactly what is allowed and what is not, so that you don't get swamped by friend requests and other stuff you don't want.

If one of you guys who intends to stick around wants to start the thread, I'd suggest this. Edit the original post to contain the information you want to propagate. That way, new players don't have to scroll through endless posts to find what they need. The OP can copy subsequent posts and paste into the lead.

We can't really sticky the thread. If we did that every time we get the request, we would have 6 pages of stickies and no-one would find anything. What we can do is request that the administrators group all of the Hay Day threads into a dedicated subforum in the same way as Dragonvale and the other popular games.

WhIle the moderators will do what we can to keep the thread clean, as we do with all threads, we can miss stuff, so you can do us, and yourselves, a favor by reporting off topic posts that we miss. Don't reply to spam as we then have to search the thread to do a proper clean up. Just report it, and one of us will do the rest.

Friend requests will stay in the main subforum for friend requests as that is where people will look for it.

Sounds good to me. Since I'm the OP of this thread I'll start looking for useful info to post in the first post.

Everybody if you have some good info just post it with a quote addressed to me. I'll check in once maybe twice a day to post them.

I've sent an email about the missing boxes and i encourage everyone to do the same. This feature needs to be put back on. I'm just not having fun anymore.

I wonder if they've now changed something else. I also noticed the sudden disappearance of diamonds in the tool boxes, and the constant crashes after a while. Perhaps now we can only sell 3 chili peppers at a time? Let's go find out...

I noticed this morning after the loading screen issue that the tool boxes are rare.

Here's a change I've noticed since we all had a hard time getting on yesterday. I had one neighbor, who no matter how often I went to her farm had a toolbox showing. Always. About half the time it was unlocked. Now it's not there at all. I've gone back over & over - gone. Do they just want the game to be less fun? or do they think that changing these things will force us into purchasing coins/diamonds (which I won't do on any game.)

Well, unless they add new items/challenges, I guess I'm about finished anyway. Nothing left to purchase/do.

Same thing for me this morning.

Usually first thing in the morning I open my game and visit my friends farms and open all kinds of boxes and get lots of stuff. Not one single box today! What's happening! And, yes, I agree with the lack of diamonds. I haven't seen any except in my mine. .??

The Devs got rid of the tool box exploit.

They were loosing money with the tool box glitch so of course they fixed it.

That's what happens when people start bragging on the net about a glitch they found/learned. If only people could keep things to themselves these Devs would be clueless for the most part until they figured it out for themselves.

I have my email from when the game first came out suggesting the Devs put a arrow <,> on both sides of the stand so we can click the arrow to scroll left and right instead of taking a chance of accidentally buying something we don't want/need. We see how well they listen to our suggestions.

I rarely scroll over at a friends stand unless there is a open slot for me to place my finger.

Actually, I'm not sure if that is true or not about them loosing money. I saw in a comment that Hay Day was making quite a bit. If that is indeed true, then they are really risking a lot by ticking people off and not having more to do for the higher ups. We all found a way to keep the game interesting and going even though we ran out of official things to do. I am now bored with it since I can only plow so many fields and feed so many animals before my silo and barn is filled. I got to level 37 in about a month, I didn't discover the glitch until about level 32, they will make more money if they have a dedicated fan base that lasts more than a month. They really need to worry more about finding stuff for us to focus on, then glitches like the box. I really hope they don't allow greed to destroy the game. They should have boxes found more frequently and open about half the time instead of being stingy with them and have them open every few hours. It would make the game more fun and we would want to spend more time on it.

Aaah, the same happened for me, several times... $1,680 wasted unintentionally.
I wholeheartedly agree that there must be more effective & safe ways to visit neighbors' roadside stalls...

Funny...I don't think they care about losing you as a user. There is no ad revenue, so losing a player who doesn't purchase any features doesn't really hurt them. They are a company that pays their employees and is trying to raise an additional round of funding for their business...hard to get capital if you can't prove you make money with your product. May be sad to you, but very true.
