Hay Day Discussion and Game Help Thread (NO FRIEND REQUESTS)

Wow. Nine is a big number.
If I'm not mistaken, the standard machine comes with two queue slots, and it needs 6 diamonds to open the third slot. The fourth needs 9, fifth 12, ...

...somebody please remind me of those arithmetic (or geometry?) progression rules...

*off to googling wikipedia*

Okay, got it:
arithmetic progression of number of diamonds needed in machinery queueing slot is:
a(n) = 3(n-1)
with n = nth queue slot
and a(n) = number of diamonds

...but it starts with n = 3; I'm not sure how to write the correct equation...
(meaning: the first expansion, of third slot, needs 6 diamonds)

So the total number of diamonds needed to fully expand one machine up to the ninth slot will be... 105?!

But... don't we all get 3 slots for free, originally?

ROW1: SLOT1 SLOT2 ... SLOT5
ROW2: SLOT6 SLOT7 ... SLOT9
SLOT1-3 ALREADY THERE.

...why would you want to capture foxes? Will they randomly pick items for you? o_O

Well, I've realized how cute they were since I've captured tens of frogs... :P
So I thought I could give foxes a try, ha ha.
They do nothing but lighten my farm!

How do I make serious money in order to buy the machines, open mine and repair docks. I seam to be making a few coins each day but no where near enough?

I try to produce and sell goods that do not take too long to manufacture and that seem to be rarely advertised, for instance sugar and butter. I found they sell usually pretty fast.

...not on all the machines...

Got credited some diamonds by the developers after I contacted them about losing a few here and there, they are working on fixing that problem. Can't complain about that service!

Have found that the shovel yields diamonds more often than any other tool in the mine.

Regarding making money I agree with the theory of producing whatever is in short supply but doesn't take too long to make, sugar is always is short supply as it's used in so many things. I used the diamonds I'd collected to increase production queues to 8 on machinery that has shorter items; dairy, sugar mill, bakery so that overnight I had them working the whole time. I did this over a couple of weeks, it took time to get that many diamonds!

If you want more followers, which increases your sales without needing to advertise, offer different items. I wouldn't follow anyone who only ever has eggs and milk in their stall.

Took me 1.5 days only to get $16,000 needed to repair the dock! Now 31 hours 59 minutes till it's repaired! I'm strongly tempted to use diamonds to speed it up LOL...

Thanks for all of your kind information about docks & ships & mines... Now I'm getting my motivation back to continue playing... 2 more levels till the mine opens!

Oh... forgot to add... my money was already $4,000 something yesterday morning, so it's probably around 2.5 clean days to get to $16,000. It's not impossible after all :D

90 saws!!! Lucky you :)

Funny feature, i have in past days gotten 90 axes twise, 100 nails and plenty of saws by visiting my friends farma and opening multiple treasures in a same farm. But this morning i got 300 duct tapes!! I'm sure i did not open actually 300 treasure chests but i was quite happy even it seems i perhaps lost at the same time 30 nails. Going to take forever to sell tapes with high price :)

Oh does anyone know how I can capture foxes? I've been waiting the whole day but still couldn't get another fox to be captured.
They don't come by anymore.
Anyone can help?

I was able to capture two foxes by creating large open area near the main road. It seems foxes dont come near the buildings or fences. So i made open area that had only couple trees and waited patiently. It took few hours for the fox to enter the open area and then i used fences to box her in.

Yes, I'm sure it was she as today couple days later a second one followed. I was able to box him too using the same tactic :) Now i'm trying to get them to the same stone cage.

Make sure the cage is big enough and dont place wall on top of the fox or frog. It has happened that at least frog passes walls if the wall is plased on top of them or the box was too small for them to jump around.
