I wouldn't trust iCloud with the amount of time and effort you guys put into your game. A local backup is the safest, IMO.

I do local backups every 3 days

My iPad was always set to back-up automatically, so shouldn't my game be saved? Somewhere?? I never backed up to a PC...does that make a difference? Sorry, tech dummy here!

I never tried restoring from iCloud. If you don't back up to a PC that'll be where it is.

I'll give it a looking at and see what I can come up with.

So while we are on the topic, I have a question regarding iCloud. When I first bought the iPad, my brother create an Apple ID for the iCloud, and I have a different Apple ID when I buy the apps. Now he doesn't remember the psw for the iCoud acct, so I wanna delete it and use my ID for the backup, but when I press delete, it says it will delete the data associated with that acct in my iPad. Does that mean I would lose my apps?!

I just finished reloading all my apps, which took ages! Should I erase my iPad again, start all over and select a different date to back-up to? I believe it gave me different dates to pick from, and I chose the most recent. I'm scared to screw something else up!

Just found this.

Restore from iCloud backup.

This has to be done in the initial setup process. If you have any data on your iPad now that is not in the backup that you want to save (such as recent photos) you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings; this will erase the iPad. You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the iPad was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

Update: have just spent another 45 mins erasing all iPad data, and restoring from an iCloud back-up from a couple of days ago, and found that Hay Day progress is still all lost....am off to hit head against wall. Goodbye cruel world!

So, warning to all - your Hay Day game is not saved In iCloud. Better back-up to your PC now.
