Garage band november 1st update issues

I just realized transposition (octaves and semitones control are not longer working) the system keeps resetting them. So changes to transposition never take place. iPad 2 with IOS 5. Everything else seems to be working just fine.

I bought Garage band as I was attracted to the Smart instruments. Smart guitar has a very limited and none adjustable chord selection though and the songs i want to play along with just don't fit.
