First time with Apple stuff

After nearly 40 years of using all sorts of computers including designing mainframe computers my eldest has finally persuaded me to get an iPad2. Interesting! Starting to find the good and bad of Apple's approach. Forum like this is going to be the best place to get hints, tips, solutions, and hopefully I may eventually be able to make contributions to help others.
