Facetime Costs

I think I've got this right, but want to check my facts first. If both parties in a FaceTime conversation are connected via their own wireless networks the FaceTime call is free?

If I contact someone whilst using my wifi network whilst they are using their mobile providers network, then they incur the charge?

If I speak personal wifi to personal wifi in New Zealand still no charge?

Thought I'd better check!

Thanks

Skype should work fine, as it's cross platform. You would of course need a webcam if you want video too though

Yup. We use skype videoing (free of course) to our relatives in NZ too. We find skype so much more accessible than FaceTime.

Agree Skype is best! I use it to call the PI

I'm not sure about all this. I think some countries, such as UAE, block FaceTime and Skype or at least charge for using them. Is this right?

There is no charge for using FaceTime anywhere, but you are right about the UAE. iPads supplied there do not have FaceTime.
