Dropbox passcode question

I just installed the Dropbox app. It has a passcode protection which deletes all data after 10 failed entry attempts. I am unable to turn it on, the entry being grayed out. Is this because of the iPad's passcode protection which does the same thing if lost? Or must I first change something in the iPad settings to do this?

Check that the Turn Passcode On button is not just ofthe top off the page. You have to pull the page down slightly to get to it.
