Driving to Durango - which 3G Ipad

Love my iPad

Thinking of getting an iPAd2 for a road trip from STL to Durango

The kids can use it for games/video and I would love to use it to surf the web

Wondering what kind of 3G service I can expect on the road and if Verizon or ATT would be better

You can check coverage area maps with each carrier but I wouldn't rely on them too much. Although Verizon has a reputation for better coverage, AT&T actually has better (verified) coverage here in the Seattle area, so it's always a crapshoot.

I would say, though, that at least in the NW, Verizon has significantly broader coverage in low population rural areas than AT&T. YMMV but if I had no better information I'd go with Verizon.
