I was having horrible luck too, then I switched to left (mountain) right (rain) and BAM!! I got the sapphire!! Good luck!

I saw that someone said that so I have been switching them all that got me was a possible rainbow

I just spent 200 gems trying with both the breeding cave and island at the same time, no luck but I did end up with an iceberg dragon lol

OK all you DragonVale guru's - I need your help! I have tried ten times to breed a bluefire dragon using fire and ice, (the most often recommended combo), and cannot get the dang thing! It's been a week now and I'm wondering if it's this hard to get just a bluefire, what hope is there for a rainbow?! What's your advice?

Honestly u think it is hard when your first starting like that bluefire was playing difficult to get or so I thought bc now compared to dodo current plasma n a couple of other ones it's been months since I have been trying n still no success (dodo/silver/sapphire) those are my three that I still need!

Congrats to those who got the sapphire! I have no such luck just yet... it's extremely frustrating I get nothing but fails but I am trying to keep my cool! Aargh!!

You've done nothing wrong, it's just a matter of luck of draw, they are really hard to breed because they are called Opposite Dragon, You can try Fire+Lichen, so the fail time is 30mins, 1hr, 6hrs or 10hrs. So you can try for more. Just don't give up.

Oh, I see. I'll try the fire/lichen and see what develops. I guess I'm just impatient! Thanks for the advice : )

Thanks for the advice! Oh my, MONTHS of trying to breed a dragon?! I guess I have been impatient, but will keep trying!

The wizard has been teasing me today, still no sapphire, and I was having fun at the races until rime or reason I decided to play my emerald. At the line up racing against me was a gold and silver olympus, a sun dragon, and a sapphire! Come on wizard, no fair when I don't have one - it only appears in my races? I'm happy to say, my emerald came in first, and the sapphire was no where to be seen (sadly on both counts, in the race or in my gem island). There's always tonight, or even tomorrow

We are in this hunt together let's be positive we will get her !!!!! I just tired again but ended with 48 hrs breeding time no idea what it could be bc sapphire is 31 hrs but am still hopeful

I just got a 48 hour last night too. I Hess we will e waiting together. I don't really mind getting a rainbow, cause I still need more for my colosseum. I have all the moon eggs I need, and about half of the sun, but only one rainbow so far. I can't wait till its done!

Too funny Di! I'm glad your Emerald won, I've just been playing myself and actually won gems for the first time! I was laughing as I was looking for hats on your islands cos your nursery looks like mine! Hopefully we will both get our Sapphires shortly after one another like last month!

Guess I'm in the same boat as other people. No sapphire. We can just hope for the best. I have a LOT of other dragons to breed and now the sapphire dragon is making me fall behind on my good work.
