Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

This is just HORRID, 2 breeding caves going non stop with seaweed /snow since 1st of month and STILL no pearl. Different lvl's, changed sides, etc. i had a rainbow with less effort. Just venting.

I still think its a bit much to expect people to pay if they don't have enough gems. Most people ( I think) don't mind blowing a few gems in order to speed up breeding in the chase for a rare dragon. That alone reduces the gems you do have! Look at the asking price for the pearl dragon too. If you want to buy it, it will cost you just over $50 to purchase the gems. Way too much. For the longevity of the game, I think the prices should be reduced. Clearly not enough people have made the upgrades, and in order to make more $ backflip have reduced the cost. Unfortunately those that have already spent money won't get that back. For the die hard players who are in this for the long haul, spending will be kept at a minimum. What do others think? I personally have not gone with the latest upgrades as I don't want to buy gems. Sure and steady for me.

I bought the upgrades after the price drop. I am trying to make DV the only game I pay cash for. I have paid cash for other games and felt stupid when I lost interest in the game. DV as stayed interesting and challenging ( as above rant on pearl) so I didn't mind spending money at the reduced rate. The original price was too high for me.

Ive given myself a app budget and spread it thru the few addictive games, but you have to calculate if its worth spending the gems. I dont even know how much faster the dens are ... And I know that ill still use gems for last hrs or so. Im too desperate to get a rare dragon. So ill just wait for my daily gems.

I did splurge on the tree ;) so I can donate six gems a day !!!

gcid Zowie75

6 gems a day and the right choice in the colosseum (5 gem for a gold) makes 11 gems a day. Not too shabby.

I just now got my 30 hour breed for Pearl!! I'm so happy! I got it early, so now I can spend the rest of the month trying for the non-limited ones I missed, such as Forge and Current.
Keep on trying, folks! You have a lot more time with Pearl!
(hee hee! I just love this game!)
Also...I was showing off my dragons at a convention this past weekend, and one of my friends is just desperate to get an iPad so she can play this game! It's the first thing she'll download when she does! Lol!

I played on my iPhone until I finally got an iPad. Such a difference. The only problem is that I wait until I get home to pay because the phone now seems so small. Lol

I just want to share this blog by Jrocket97 for those who felt the price drop in EPI and BC upgrade is unfair for those have purchased it at intro price and want a refund, but i'm not attacking anyone here, as i know no one is complaining here, unlike other DV forum. :D

"Rant of The Day" by: Jrocket97
This goes out to all of the people moaning and groaning (I want to say something else here, but I'd get banned for abusive language) about the changes in price for the EBC and the EBS. We all agree they were overpriced before. We complained, and backflip listened, and dropped the price. So, a lot of people that bought it before the drop are whining about how they paid too many gems and blah blah blah. I've seen comments calling backflip studios "Greedy Scum." Let's take a moment to define Greed.

Greed: An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves.

Now, what seems contradictory here? If BFS was greedy, the prices would have been RAISED, so they could get MORE. They were LOWERED in response to complaint. That does not make them greedy. If you want Greedy Scum, go bug Team Lava.

And now let's look at the standpoint of people who bought before the price drop. In real life, when things are new, they cost more. As demand decreases, so does the price. Basically, backflip discounted the purchase of the enhanced breeding areas. Like a real life discount. I bought the EBC for 600 gems, and I'm not complaining. If I was willing to buy it at that price at the time, then I can't ask for a refund. If you buy and iPod, and a week later, the price goes down, do you barge into the store and demand a refund? NO. So why do that here? You were willing to buy it at that price before. Besides, if you like Dragonvale, you should be happy to support the game with your money. I know I am.

Good point, well stated. I agree!

I think it is nice not to have 24 hrs or 48 hrs failed attempts.

Good luck on your Pearl dive. :)

I'm feeling chatty today. I cannot count the gems I spent on the crystal disease I caught on the emerald quest. I am delighted to only have an 8 or 9 hour wait.

Finally got the current with magnetic and water. That makes the pearl the only dragon in the market I need and ma having no luck with yet

Just wanted to say I was very pleased to receive my 1450 gems back from Backflip studio this morning having emailed them yesterday. If anyone invested in either the Epic Sanctuary or Cave before the price was dropped, you can get your gems back. No cash refunds though!

I guess it's nice to have a big gem pile in the bank to fast track the next gem dragon or new / hidden dragons that come up in the future! :D

Anyone who needs to contact them to request the refund can do so at support@backflipstudios.com

What a nice company!

That's awsome
