Yeah, this seems to have altered things more than a little. People will now need to check their daily earnings, broken down into breeding for cash and habitat sweeps to see which is the best way to go. This has always been the case for working on Silver Shrines, because it costs so little food to get to Level 10, but it's now become the case for Gold as well (for some people). Some figures:
In 36 hours, without sleep or gems -
$27 million can be earned in both breeding caves with Mags/Iron.
$2.7 million can be earned in an Earth Habitat filled with Level 15 Panlongs, double boosted, cleared every hour
$1.2 million can be earned in a Cold Habitat filled with Level 15 Blue/Frostfires cleared every 90 minutes
If you lose a Breeding Cave for 36 hours for a Panlong you are losing $13.5 million. If you lose it for 14 hours for a Mud and a Blazing you lose $5.25 million. And while the $8.25 million you earn in the remaining 22 hours is not enough to make up the difference, the amount collected from habitats in that time could be. I want to work out the break even point, but my minds a bit fuzzy this morning. Poppy, any thoughts on the numbers here?
36 hours is closer to the actual turn around, because you'll be hatching whilst breeding the next two. And I believe $8.25 million is the additional you can earn, taking away the 14 hours needed to breed Mud and Blazing. Please check that math.
I realize that Pans return their weight in gold when leveled up and set up in Poppy's infamous CGCF. I have 4 earth habitats set up with 2 &/or 3 level 15 Pans. Unfortunately, I can't visit DV every hour to keep everyone in line and the wizard's keep getting free passes to see those exhibits and they stop earning at $75K!
I can usually manage a quick visit about every 4 or 5 hours (I normally do opt for sleep overnight however - but if I put whatever shrine pieces I'm after in the breeding facilities overnight that helps.)
4 Earth Habitats at 75K collected 6 times a day will earn $2.1 million in the 36 hours a Panlong breeds for. Can I please check your math on how you earn $45 million in 36 hours total, for the park? This is obviously the crux of it, and I know people do, but they are clearing very regularly and/or spending gems to speed up breeding.

You do get the Metal Shrine at Level 25 and all Dragons you own when you get the shrine count towards it. Any you have sold before then do not.
36 Earth
40 Lightning
36 Fire
37 Plant
39 Water
41 Cold
41 Air
50 Metal
Now, we're currently in discussion on the forum about monies earned and time spent breeding Panlongs when aiming for Gold. Basically if you can earn 33 million in less than 36 hours (assuming a Breeding Cave is out of commission for making the dragons you need) than it could be faster to breed a Mud and a Blazing than a Panlong. It is certainly going to be the case when aiming for silver, because so little food is required BUT if you're going to be aiming for Gold in the future, then breeding the Panlongs now will put you streets ahead when going for gold because you won't have all those 36 hour breed times slowing you down. You will have done the work now. So:
36 Panlongs leaves
40 Lightning
37 Plant
3 Water
41 Cold
5 Air
50 Metal.
40 Magnetic and 37 Lichen will leave you with
3 Water
4 Cold
5 Air
10 Metal
5 Chrome, 3 Mine, 2 Rust & 1 Ice will finish it up.
40 Magnetic
37 Lichen
36 Panlong
5 Chrome
3 Mine
2 Rust
1 Ice
No doubt you will have a few Metals done when you get the Shrine, so a few less Mine/Chromes will be needed and can be replaced with Snows.
