Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

We switch between the two islands, love them both for different reasons. Have you heard anything about the tsunami debris reaching HI yet? I think I heard estimates of it arriving starting this spring but that it would hit the west coast first. Haven't seen anything here yet tho.

I just read about it in a recent issue of National Geographic. They cited a study predicting that 2 years following the disaster it would reach Hawaii, in 3 years the Pacific coast, and in 5 years become part of the North Pacific Garbage Patch. Beach combing only for those with strong stomachs or dulled senses.

No. Bend is on the East slope of Cascades and they block many of the storms that make the Western part of the state so famous for rain. Located at about 4,000', Bend has 300 days of sunshine a year. Might be cool at 40 degrees, but you don't need a heavy coat. It's an outdoor paradise. Mt. Bachelor, a major ski area with lots of pow, is 25 minutes away. There are beautiful rivers, trails, Ponderosa forests - every outdoor activity under the sun.

It's an international Mecca for mountain biking and rock climbing. Always something happening here. Kind of a working town version of Aspen. A lot like Boulder, where BFS is located.

Ok, I revise my earlier statement, I know where I want to move. I've always tried to get my husband to move with me to Oregon, but he insists it's too wet for me. I told him not all places are like that, but I never really looked into it any further. How long's the flight to HI and out of which airport?

You're retired at 43? Now I'm really jealous!

It's hard picking a place where you really want to live. Too many choices, and realistically you know the grass is always greener on the other side. I would love to move back to Munich...in the summers. Hawaii for the winters doesn't sound awful. The flight back and forth...no thank you! In the end I hope I'll end up close-ish to at least one of my kids.
Ah ha.ein muenchner ! I love munich, lived there for 7 years, and i go back regularly to visit my friends. I must add, grand parents lived in a small village in Bavaria and i spent all vacations as a child there.

I went to UC-Santa Barbara on an academic scholarship and worked at the beach parks as a California State Park Ranger. It was a wonderful setup. My youngest son was born there (older son in Newport Beach). It was pretty nice back in the day.

He applied there too. It would be nice for him as its a little further and he could take the train home if wanted. I could understand UClA and irvine as they are not too far, but I heard from other parents they don't necessarily see their college bond kids often either. Next two months we will hear more about his options.

Another Turbo Shuffle Move...

I also go to the one hour Air/Sandy breeding cycle which costs 10 gems an hour and produces $2M an hour. When I'm on cruise I do the two hour cycle at 4 gems every two hours.

Sorry to disrupt the conversation by talking about dragons! ;)

Trust me, if he went to UCI you'd see him all the time. UGH! My #2 is at UCD, and loves it. It's strange because you wouldn't think that there's much to do, but since the kids are stuck in the middle of nowhere they get pretty creative whereas everybody who can leaves Irvine on the weekends.

Bend is a Mecca for retirees. It's the most active lifestyle on the planet. Lots of Olympic athletes in a variety of sports train here. The only fly in the ointment is that the four seasons are: Winter, Winter, Summer, Fall. The Winters aren't deep but they are wide. Which is the perfect time to go to Hawaii.

Everyone who lives in Oregon wants to live in Bend. I think we led the nation in real estate price escalation during the boom, pretty close to led it going down, and it looks to like we may be forming a bottom right now. A great time to buy real estate here. One of my sons just bought a beautiful 7,000 sf house for $700K in the same gated golf community that my wife and I live in. My other son and his wife also live here. Kind of a civilized compound. It's great to have the five grand kids all within a 15 minute walk.

Wow prices are amazing! For 700 usd you could not afford my flat which is 100 square meter!

It's really not all it's cracked up to be. Right...there is always good and bad no matter where you are...that is my problem.

In all sincerity, it's one of the most gorgeous houses I have ever seen. He and I started a company together a few years ago and he just merged it with a larger company on the East Coast, which was a major liquidity event for him. He continues as president of the company.

He's my younger son and he has always had the Midas touch when it comes to timing. I think he hit he bullseye on this one. The house he bought was originally listed at $1.5M.

Lol, don't forget the K behind the $700, it's kinda important. Still, that's a great price for a 7000sf house. You won't get more than 2000sf here, even during the current lull.
