This may have come up before, but not since I've been. What is the interval in picking up party hats? Is it 24 hours from the last time you were on a specific site or 24 from the last time you were on any site ?

I think it's every 24 hours from that site. So if I visited your park at midnight and collected all the hats they won't be available until midnight the next day. I'm pretty sure it's for that specific site but I could be wrong. By the way I love your islands especially the nursery one. I also have 3 baby habitats but I haven't decorated the island they are on.

I got 4 panlongs with blazing and mud. I got one rainbow from seaweed and firefly and another rainbow with flower and storm. Flower and storm also gave me 6 moons. I also got a moon with lightening and cold and another moon with storm and sonic. Another combo for moon is scorch and snow. Bluefire and crystal and blazing and crystal are also combos for rainbow. I hope this helps.

I forgot to add that I got 2 moons from reindeer and storm as well. Moons just love me lol. For Bluefire I used fire and storm. I also got one from fire and reindeer.

However, we don't have friends simply for gems. I love to see their islands, and the party hats give me 9,000 each hat. That's 12,000 for every friend. I have close to 150 friends. That's 1,800,000 coins EVERY day. Yes it takes a long time to do, but it's worth it. That's 10,000 extra food EVERY day. That's NOT including the gold from habitats, and selling airs and sandstorms. It's definitely better to have more friends.

Absolutely agree!!! And I know it's not really the place, but I would really like to see some of your islands and have some more friends! My GC ID is Servant 16:9. I also play with my 2 daughters!

Wow some bad vibes on the forum lately! we've been called stupid, confused, silly ,one of the best helpful and supportive people on here told to shut up more than once and to stop complaining !!!!! I think they should take their own advise as everyone on here is only trying to help other people by sharing their own experiences and I for one am going to listen as I had no rare dragons except blue fire before joining here and getting all this advise and support has got me nearly all of them, (you know who you guys are THANKS btw x ) no need to mention the gems the party hats and the exploring of other peoples wonders but i will anyway,this is a wonderful site and your spoiling it with your negativity so please stop it ! I hate to be the one to pop the gen/boost bubble BUT...

All of me dragons that i breed with are first gen,

I have all of the boosts severalon the same island as my breeding cave,

I have breed every single dragon in the game this way (I also use the new epic breeding island)

The only thing that seems to help is the level of the dragon, the higher the better.

All this talk about generations and bootsts is just silly, about as real as worrieing a black cat will cross your path.

A bit snappy perhaps, but I do agree on the first part. I'm very certain this game (at this point) has a very simple coding compared to other games. I doubt many variables are taken into account when you breed dragons. Your dragons may or may not keep genes, but I'm pretty sure it's decided what you get based on a random roll. The rare ones are just rare because they have a very low probability of being selected that's all.

Some people are just lucky, when other are, well.. not.
In my case luck always comes in a bundle. I got my Sun dragon on my birthday and my Panlong was conceived on the day my partner made a promotion. Funny how it goes.

Anyway the fact is that we don't really know what the truth is for certain, so it's better not to claim we do though I do want to give it an educated guess. This is pure speculation so bear with me..

For our example I'm gonna use Blazing x Mud, and I'm going to assume level and dna play no part in this.
Blazing dragon consists out of fire and air, mud out of water and earth. Let's say that for breeding you have 3 possibilities: Element one is selected, element 2 is selected or both are selected. I'm gonna give fictive numbers...

Fire 40%
Air 40%
Fire x Air 20%

Earth 40%
Water 40%
Earth x Water 20%

So let's say this is it (which it's not and I'll get back on that later), then the chance your 2 dragons make a fog dragon is 16%
To make a Panlong, both of the double genes must be selected. As you can tell the chance of that happening is far smaller: 4%
That means that generally speaking, with these numbers, every 25 tries should yield a Panlong on average.

However, I'm sure some combination have a second check too. E.g. this combo should be able to produce sandstorm dragons at a rate of 16%. We all know this isn't the case. Some dragons have another value assigned to them to make the odds of getting that even slimmer. I believe special dragons work like that too. Whenever a combination of genes is created, a second roll decides wether it will be a regular or special dragon.

These are far from correct, but I'm interested in testing this. I'm going to keep a record of my breeding attempts to see if I can make a general % out of them.

I think we all started as just readers but once you start talking it great isn't it ? Like a little ( or large actually) DV family and I love it I don't think I would have gotten as involved with the game as much as I have without this thread ( was originally my ten yr olds game ) but the enthusiasm on here really got me going and the combos helped me so much and all the friendliness and support has stopped me giving up in times of despair haha............ Speaking of despair GRRRRRRR to panlong because he really does not want to be my friend lol x x x

Good luck for your Panlongs. I did mine with Blazing (L) and Mud (R). Both @ L10. Took me about 3 days of continuous trying before I got my first. While I admit being luckier than you here, it did drive me to nuts too!
