Ok daddy
I got my sandstorm from air + quake but air + mud is also a good one but it never worked for me,slot of people have had better success if the mud was lower lvl than the air around 4-7
As for the rares
Sonic+ storm Got me a moon but also makes suns
Sonic+ blue fire Got me a sun
Flower + ice got me my rainbow

There are many combinations though but you will have to go back through this thread to find them and there is many ,many pages lol

My breeding island finally opened up and I put water and cold on it to do some magic. But with my luck i'm not holding out much hope. Ah well, at least I'm not NOT getting a rainbow or sun...that's a much bigger disappointment. There's a bright side to everything

I've got 2 ice a crystal and a snow in my nests at the moment and another water + cold in the breeding island and a 48 HR with 15 and a half hrs to go in my normal cave boooooo !!! So yes there is always a bright side as I'll get something nice in 2 and a half days and you never know that could be an iceberg in the EBI ? Here's hoping anyway good luck with yours and just to let u know I got your gem a few days ago and will be able to return it tomorrow according to my lovely list lol x

Yay! Opened up the market, trying to get some combo ideas - and there's a new dragon!!!


And it's a Cold dragon, my faves!! Quickly threw a water and cold in the cave, got 8 hours.
Probably shouldn't get too excited yet - since the Ice dragon is also 8 hours...
What does the egg look like?

I'll try again with the other cave soon as it's done. Another failed attempt for a 48 hour. Sigh.
Put in a Blazing + Crystal and got a Quake!?!? Grrr...

DragonVale tips I wish I had before I started.

Do not waste your gems in the tutorial. Upgrade your hatchery instead.

Buy as many plant habitats as you can and fill them up for quick gold. Don't bother feeding your plant dragons too much. Plant habitats fill quickly then don't earn more. You need to check your plant Habs every few minutes.

Always keep your habitats full. Even if you need to sell dragons later, in the mean time they will make you money.

Most of my money came from four fire habitats. Again, keep them full with cheap dragons and sell them when you run out of room.

Earth habitats are your overnight bank. When you sleep, they make the most money. Overnight, plant habitats are useless.

Pay attention to your market and make sure that you buy the maximum number of treat farms and habitats for your level. Even if you have to sell a habitat later, it can earn you gold in the interim.

Always buy a small habitat, put a dragon in it to earn money BEFORE upgrading to large. A small earth Hab takes 5 min to build and costs 100g. It costs 2500g and 24 hours to upgrade, and will earn money in the mean time. A large earth Hab will cost 2500g and 24 hours to build, and will not earn you money while building.

Breeding. Look to the fast breeds before the slow breeds. Air dragons take two hours to breed and two to hatch, and are much more useful than a crystal dragon that takes 24 hours. Especially if you ignored my first tip and didn't upgrade your hatchery. I can't post the link, but there is an excellent googledoc of all the eggs, google it!

Pay attention to the storage capacity of your Habs.
Plant > Lightning > Water > Air > Fire > Cold > Earth
Always put your hybrids in the larger capacity Hab. If I see a high level Tree or Moss Dragon in a plant Hab it almost makes me cry for the waste. There should be no hybrids in plant Habs ever, just low level plants. 4 Adolescent Plants are enough to really pump a large plant Hab.

Coliseum events are won by dragons of the flagged element.
Bronze; Adult dragon, similar element.
Silver; Adult dragon, same element.
Gold; Level 10 dragon, same element.

Look who finally hatched and is all growed up! (don't know why the photo takes sideways) And his name wasn't Geoff. Lol! Have an 8 hr with water + ice. Using my patience to see if it's the new iceberg.

BTW...I'm in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. About 20 mins north of Seattle. Winter is definitely here now. 36 F with a cold front coming down from Alaska that's supposed to bring snow this weekend. As long as it doesn't stick around and ice over!
