It would be nice to hear how everybody else choses to go forward.
I was on level 45 and now started to buy new habitats. The Rainbow island first.
Was it a smart dea?
Should I save the possibility to get another for a new dragon?
I have not seen any new type of habitats - have you?

Much of the news I am not sure I understand ...

Hi Diane. Missed you....the new update is awesome just got 16 million treats also jumped from lvl 45 to 50 don't know how that happened Not quite sure what we are doing with dark n light dragons A lot of the 'new' things we already have?

I also got the same Glitch with Rust dragons......14 hrs, hope it doesn't take that long!

Thanks Marie. I don't get to check in much - 2 new jobs, one day, the other 2 nights sleepover, and studying too - 2 nights plus Saturday. Still manage to play.

And yes, the rust dragons will take that time to breed - and wow for level 50, a glitch in your favor. Did not happen for me. Magic is slow in my park. No surprises I'm going light first!

Just got this with Rust in the ordinary cave.
Glitch? .... Or is it something new? (Sandbox has nothing new on this).

It also says, you can hatch up to four eggs - on news. I don't understand - I already have four places forte eggs ....

Looks like a portal to other world, maybe to the galaxy, it's already crowded in the island. Then it will be DragonVale update version 2.0

You guys are killing me! I'm SO excited! When is it coming?!?!

Oh one more thing, not so fun - what is the easiest least painful way to get rid of the goal "6 large treat farms"? I'm sick of seeing that one.

Yes all this update is killing me too I wish I had a double me so that person could take care of my islands n dragons for me! Lol

So apparently those players on Android have an update available for Dragonvale. Nothing is out there yet for iOS users. What I've heard so far is a new island between the EBI and gem island with a portal; habitat cap is now at 55 with a new island available to purchase for 250 million DC; the "lost dragons" which are light and dark dragons look to be appearing soon! And apparently getting gold shrines rewards you with gems. Can't wait for the update to be available for iOS users like me cuz it sounds AWESOME



DRAGONVALE 2.0 - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

The Community Event - in a nutshell

The Wizards of DragonVale are working hard to bring Dark and Light Dragons back! To do this they need your help!

- This community event introduces a new currency to the world of DragonVale, Magic, as well as a new island, habitats, decorations and eventually... dragons.

- Magic is cast towards the return of Light or Dark Dragons. The entire DragonVale community will be contributing towards Light or Dark elements to ultimately decide the order in which the dragons are released, and also earn exclusive rewards.

- A new island, the Rift Island, is home to the The Tines of the Scar, The Light Vestige and Dark Remnant.

- The Tines of the Scar will reflect the community&rsquo;s progress towards Light or Dark Magic.

- When the community has cast enough magic to return Dark or Light, a special Rift Dragon will be released.

- Each player will receive exclusive rewards in both the Light and/or Dark Elements proportional to how much Magic they have contributed to each side.


How does Magic Work?

Magic can be found throughout your park as a result of most actions you make in DragonVale. Be sure to try a variety of park activities to find the most magic. Repeating activities in the park will generally produce less magic over the course of the day. Wait a day to see magic production replenished.


Players can contribute up to 3000 magic total each day in any combination of light and dark. Players will be able to contribute more Magic when the next day&rsquo;s cycle starts, you can check this timer by tapping the info button while The Tines of the Scar is selected.


Why are we contributing Magic, and what do I get out of it?

*This community event has unique content that can only be earned through participation.*


Magic is a special, limited currency just for this event. As players cast Magic for either side, the Tines of the Scar will change in appearance depending on the amount of magic contributed to Light or dark by all players.


Once an element is completely unlocked, the corresponding dragons, habitats, and decorations will be available to all players of sufficient level.


Each player can earn special habitats for Light and Dark based on their level of contribution. As players cast more magic to the Light or Dark Elements their rewards will increase. The rewards for each respective element will be gifted to the player when that element is fully released.



As players continue to contribute to either Light or Dark, the bar below that decoration will fill. Once a player reaches the end of that bar, a reward will be made available and the bar will reset. Filling the bar indicates how much a player needs to contribute to unlock the next reward!


What happens when one element is completed?

Once an element is released, players will no longer be able to cast magic towards that element.


When an element is released whatever rewards you have earned will be gifted to you and you will no longer be able to upgrade them.


Players will still be able to cast magic towards the remaining element to upgrade their rewards until it is also released. When both elements are released the event will then come to a conclusion.


Can players buy Light/Dark habitats, decorations, and dragons in the Market?

Players can purchase Light and Dark habitats, decorations, and dragons only when that element has been released AND if they are at the appropriate level.


The habitats earned through the community event will have their own unique appearance than those sold in the market. In addition, habitats earned as rewards will not count towards your park&rsquo;s maximum habitat limit.


Shrines have changed?!?

Leveling your dragons no longer requires shrines. Most dragons can be leveled up to your park level, to a maximum of level 20. Epic and Gemstone Dragons are still currently limited to level 10.


Players will receive a one-time gift for each Shrine they have leveled. Silver Shrines will reward players with 15 Gems and 250,000 Treats. Gold Shrines will rewards players with 40 Gems and 1,000,000 Treats.


Shrines are still available in the game as a special decoration that counts your dragons.



New Island!

Players will be able to purchase a new island at level 35!



Breeding Changes?

Due to a rift in magic, the wizards have noticed some changes in dragon breeding. Apparently, with the wild effects of the new magics coming into DragonVale, Epic Dragons bred together from the same Habitat can produce an egg with any of the combined elements.



Increased Level Cap! More Habitats!

Player level-cap has been raised to level 50 from 45 and they will be able to unlock more habitats along the way.



When and how do I receive my rewards from the event?

When an element has been released, players will be able to find their rewards in the Gifts tab under the Social menu at the bottom of the screen.

The rules seem a little complex. Thanks for posting them Marc, much appreciated. Not enjoying the change in breeding times! Not sure how anyone else is doing, but I'm unable to visit parks - crashes every time. And, can't get it to open on my iphone at all. Glad I have an ipad.

This update is beyond my wildest dreams.... BackFlip is so generous. Now to some serious rearranging. Got to mKe way for the new habitats.

I don't want to sound greedy or ungrateful, but I wish BF would give us a "moving slab" where we could place our habitats, etc. To rearrange. They could make it a limbo where no coins are made and evict (confiscate) the stuff after 24 hours if we don't put it back on an island (lol).

Wishing everyone the best of luck and lots of fun with this new upgrade. DragonVaLe to me is a little sanctuary of peace and I enjoy reading each of your progresses, although I don't post frequently.

I always said Olds you have great campaigning powers! Thanks to your efforts and a big thanks to BFS for exceeding our wildest expectations (even if I have NO CLUE what's going on!!! I still love it!)!!!

Anyone got the new dragon yet? Unluckily, I collected all money, summoned the kairo dragon, and collected all the money again before I opened up the magic.. So some magic dust "disappeared".

I wonder what will happen next, when I do have the magic (good or bad), any thoughts? I mean, what are their purpose?

Goes back to zero???? "Magic found will diminish then replenish each day." Found a glitch in the breeding cave. My rust dragons in the normal breeding cave taking more than 12 hours to breed??? diz diz dizzy

Same here : two rusts breeding, over 14 hours. New dragon? Glitch? I see below Marie has same experience.

Thanks kryp2n8 for posting that, so we are only filling the dark and light rifts to get exclusive habitats and decorations if I reading it correctly, so I wonder when the dragons will be released?

Another change, my Lvl 20 Panlong is only paying $280
There are a number of my Dragons that have had a decrease in their earning capacity. Others remain the same!!!

This new breeding sucks, I'm trying to get my ghost egg and can't even get it now, I'm far enough behind now it's just going to get worse. I hope it goes back to normal after the dark/light dragons are released if not earlier.
