Accessed DV after the new update.. Good to see the snow removed now, it kinda gave a dull look to the islands..
The timing of this update was awesome for me, i was about to sell my 3rd Sun as i dont have enough habitats, now as i got additional ones, my 3rd Son (Sun) will stay with me..
Might complete the Air and Water shrines in a couple of days, then on to the Rainbow Hunt again..

First post, but long time reader!

I'm sooo glad we get more islands! Now I feel like I can really sort them into types nicely, because it was driving me crazy so I have them all mixed in! I know that the second I try and organize them I'll go all OCD and spend 5 hours doing it

I wonder if they added any extra dragons? All the new stuff, more habitats and everything but no new dragons? Seems like an update to just keep us busy until they can add more. Not that I'm gonna complain, but new dragons are always welcome! Hope we see some kind of Valentine's Day dragon.

Anyways, thank you all for sooo much help! Great people here and I'm gonna love getting to know you all more <3

I agree that it's so nice to have another island for arrangement purposes...I've got mine 'building' and am already debating what I'll move and rearrange once it's ready - though I am sure it'll be really expensive to clear, haha. I completely rearranged my existing islands around the time we got the EBI (epic breeding island), so not so long ago, and my shoulder was killing me for days! I play on an iPhone and so couldn't see any more than one island at a time (and everything was tiny and hard to 'choose' correctly) so it took FOREVER and was really painstaking work.
I understand that it's even the same on the iPad this update?!! Seems ridiculous to me!

I also look forward to new dragons but am happy to wait for those at the moment. I am very thankful this update gave us the extra island and habitats because I 'needed' them more

Yes...got the gem tree. :thumbs: You have to wait a day though after placing it to get any extra's to give out. . Guess tomorrow is better than never though! . It does but it's worth it for me to pay back those that send to me but it's awful either way watching 100 of them gone.

I can't believe all those dragons I leveled and sold now don't count towards the 50 level 15's...well of course they don't because I haven't leveled any past 10. Live and learn...I sure didn't see that one coming. It's really gonna take forever. Ugh! Lol. I could just slap myself for that one!

Ah yes, I figured you, of anyone I know, would! Will definitely help you get that list under control. I am still debating cos my list isn't so bad, hehe. We'll see.

Yeah there's probably a heap of people pretty annoyed right now with the new shrine set-up, heh. Like I/we mentioned, it does make sense but it's SUCH a waste of food/cash. I suppose it'll keep everyone busy. The people who hadn't gotten to the shrines yet are definitely better off (unless they can't get to Gold until after level 25 anyway and then they will probably still have to sell some before they get there - though probably not so many).
I still don't know if I even want to level up my dragons (don't like the orbs or the dragons being bigger!) anyway so not so sure that part of the update affects me too much yet. Then again, in a future update, they'll probably bring out a new dragon that you can't get until you've met the new shrine goals so I'll be desperately trying to catch up!! haha. If only I knew for sure...

Not need for slappage, hehe. No one saw that coming really...and what else could you do? You'd have been stuck on the first couple of shrines, your park bursting with dragons you don't want, unable to do anything until this update!

I am not making a friend request here, but I am curious to know how to gain friends. I have no personal friends who Play this game, and we aren't supposed to use this forum to gain friends. I'm just trying to be able to give and receive the gem gifts, and also see others islands

I think it's okay to state you'd like friends as long as you are asking questions or providing tips/advice as well. It's just that there is already a specific 'friends request' thread for pure 'friends request' posts.
My Game Center ID is listed in my signature below so feel free to send me a request if you want (ilUli explained how I think?! :thumbs, it is always nice to be able to talk in here with people you can also interact within the game with!
If your username is your GC ID (or you list your GC ID in your signature like me) then you'll probably find you end up getting requests after a while anyway. I know quite a few of my DragonVale friends found my name here.

I'd just recently sold my second Plant habitat to make room for my Rainbow so that's a little annoying but with the new island on it's way and 4 new habitats available I'm not too upset
Just wish I could see at least one whole island at a time ...my upcoming reorganisation will NOT be pleasant!!

I only kept my plant habitats mainly so I could have one of each dragon but then now I have 2 Raindeer dragons that I wanna keep.

Put 1 reindeer in your cold habitat that's what I did because I also wanted 2 reindeers

Some of the new goals are lame, specially for those of us already on the higher levels! Upgrade 6 large treat farms for a million prize, but it costs 750,000 to upgrade each one! Makes no sense. Also, hatch a sandstorm and a bluefire. Already have!

Did anyone else notice how often the game reloads after this update?

I agree, the new goals are mostly stuff we've already done if we we were anywhere close to level 25 when they updated.
The colosseum one is good because you'll just get a nice boost of coin and XP but you dont have to even do anything extra than normal.

The treat farms ones are kinda ridiculous for sure. Even worse when you consider you actually pay even more when you upgrade as opposed to selling the smaller one and buying the bigger one (you get half the cost of the smaller one back if you sell and the yet the upgrade costs the same as to outright buy which effectively means you paid the cost of a smaller and a larger one for the large one).

The paths one will probably be easy when we have a new island but that's about it without having to re-do things for most of us. Crazy.

I have definitely had my game reload more already which is frustrating but no crashes yet (and my game had started to crash a bit more by the end of the last update) which is nice.

So, so far with the new update I have 'ordered' a new island (7 hours to go...though I may cave and speed things up a smidge at the end ) and bought another Moon habitat and a second Rainbow habitat (yes, wishful thinking, so far, on my part).

I figure that I know I definitely want doubles of each of the rares so I'll buy them immediately and then just work out which of the normal habitats to buy back (sold a Plant and a Lightning before) or buy another one of. Currently thinking another Cold (my 4th) to move my Ice and Snows back to (they got pushed to water and Air with the shrine work but I don't like them there and I didn't have room to put them back till now) and then probably either a Plant and Lightning but maybe even a Water, Fire or Air???!!! haha, I'm not sure obviously. It's not all about the cash possibilities for me but obviously it's always nice to be earning more.

Gahhh, I keep forgetting and trying to zoom out to see a whole island and being annoyed AGAIN when I can't

At 10am this morning I started building another large cold habitat (for my baby reindeer) which takes 24 hours ... it is now almost 1pm and the countdown timer is still at 23 hours ... HUH???

I was going to do a rearrange too whilst it was snowing, but then I was afraid of how it might look when the grass came back coz the whole colour scheme might just be crazy (like me). Decided to leave it which was probably a good idea, especially now that I have more islands to have fun decorating. So many things to do that I want to do all at once! (and breathe ....)

Haha, yeah I initially figured the colours would stand out brighter against the white snowy background but with the, apparently, boosted colours of this update it's definitely brighter than ever!
I'll most certainly be rearranging again as soon as I have a reasonably clear 4th island but still not entirely sure what my plan is yet, hehe. Think I'm going to move my farms over to start (and buy a few more to have the maximum amount) and take it from there...I can almost feel the shoulder pain now! bwahaha

Anyone else having problems with the new update? I installed it and now I can't start DV! It keeps on saying "Connection Error. The game server had an internal error. Please try again later."

And I have tried to delete the game and re-download it without luck! My world is about to fall apart... haha.
