Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

Hey Jo-Anne, I'm not into Facebook or Twitter and I won't be signing up any time soon. Just interested to know how many gems you get as a result! And, how is that number determined?

I have signed up to both but have set the facebook up so that I am the only person that sees my posts. I set up the twitter account to get the free berries each week in smurfs village. Dragonvale gives one additional gem for each post so for hatching a Motley dragon I will get one gem for hatching but if I tap on the twitter and Facebook symbols and leave a message I get one additional gem from each. It only takes a few seconds to do each post. Only then do I tap on the ok button on the congratulations pop up screen. Hope this helps.

Finally!!! I'm 1 gem away from upgrading my breeding island! I didn't think I had the willpower to save 225 gems! Lol but I have just about done it!

I did the same as you - I set up my twitter account for Smurfs village also. Using it for dragonvale is a bonus. Plus no one knows about that account so whatever the tweets say is irrelevant to me. That sounded a bit harsh LOL

Congrats Natty, and Olds, that's awesome.

I left my game for about 5 hours yesterday and I played 4 pics one word. Once my 3 ice had finished incubating and my rust had finished breeding, I went back into my game and in my normal breeding cave with 2 level 15 dragons I got my second diamond. Venting may be more powerful that higher level dragons!

Hey Olds, don't forget to check your goals list in your game. Before you sell off all those eggs, you will be able to hatch some of them and gain treats, coins, xp's and maybe even a gem. Once you have hatched any that you don't need, you can then sell them.

Forgot to tell you: both dragons were Lvl 10! And in the ordinary but upgraded cave.
My other pair is 16 and 15 Lvl and on the Island. Result: nothing!

Edit: I was so curiouse I had to use gems. Yes it was the new sparkling egg. WOW!

Congrats Oldsmol! Only for this dragon i feel like i want the egg display first before hatching it. It's better for me to missed the dragon than to missed the precious Diamond egg. I want to complete my gemstone egg collection, without the Diamond on the center it is incomplete. but it's your choice. I got 2 in a row so i don't have to decide which will go first.

I'm thinking maybe ill keep my first for display too as I really like the egg more than the dragon and after saying that I prob won't get either!

Congrats Olds on your first diamond egg. It's interesting that you only needed to use lower level dragons. I think we have smashed the theory that level 15 dragons and higher give you a better chance of getting rare dragons, and even more so, using level 20 dragons. As they say on myth busters: "myth busted!"

I wished I had have kept my collection of eggs rather than sell them off, as I have lost count of my total fails. I've probably only used a total of 50-60 gems since the quest began for diamond, however, my two crowned dragons are not proving as profitable as I would have imagined. I'm still grateful to have two more crowned dragons, and I only sold off the egg fails as I am working on crowning my level 19 river dragon next. (And I honestly didn't think it would take this long)

The quest continues. To those who are still trying for their first diamond dragon and feeling really frustrated by now - may the wizard be with you with magic wand in hand, shaking that thing like crazy over your breeding caves.

I reallllly need that magic dust blowing over to the west Di anytime now would be good. I have about 30 million in fails so that's something, but its only 600.000 treats which really go no-where.

Out of sheer frustration and against my better judgement I decided to use 4 gems and speed up my quicksilver. As my epic is clogged with platinum I decided to have 3 quick tries and I blew 21 gems in the process and I got 3 ice dragons incubating.

I don't normally play any other games, but for now 4 pictures and 1 word is getting a bit of a beating!

Well I'm venting but my dragons arnt gonna hatch for another 12 hrs so ill have to come back and complain again before I put them back in to do their job, maybe I'll scare them by saying I'm gonna get rid of them if they don't perform !!

Just got my first diamond after 2 rust and 1 quicksilver. I really wanted to test the theory of using two level 20 dragons so used gems for the rust and quicksilver. On epic, 4th try, not too bad. (Mine breeding in normal)

This diamond egg is the first gemstone I wanted as a egg for display. It's beautiful! I too wish they had done more for the dragon!

Two theories tested. First one - putting in level 20 dragons scores 5 gems even if they don't contain the correct elements!

Also, my two level 20 dragons have not yielded my second diamond yet. I'm on my 9th fail on epic!

How's everyone else going? I think this is proving a little difficult as I'm not seeing many diamonds as I sweep for coins.

Thanks for sharing your theories with us dizzy, good to know. I have always struggled for some reason with the coliseum, sometimes I would get gold and then I would put the same dragon in for the same element I got gold with earlier, only to get a silver, or sometimes a bronze. I think Ill just level one of my Panlongs up to level 20 now so I don't have to worry about getting anything less then gold.

I get to hatch my first Diamond in about 2 hours. Still trying for #2. I'm loving all the extra gems I've been getting from tweeting when I finish a goal. Is it sad I created a twitter account for two of my games just to get some freebies LOL

Congratulations. I also only use my twitter account for freebies. It takes so little effort to get the extra gems each time.

And hopefully Facebook. I don't use twitter.

About my status right now;
One can not complain getting nice eggs when trying for the dragon without fur.




I lock them into my Hib.
Today after 33 fails I had my first Motley. I am really worried it will disturb the balance in all that bluish ..

Venting is letting out your pent up frustration. Here it seems to produce wished for dragons! In life, well, not so much.

I've just swung by your place again picking up my cash from your party hats and I see lots of fails, but no diamond yet...Aaarrhh!

I sure hope you get one real soon, especially considering we are over a week in, it just doesn't seem right. Using higher level dragons does not seem to be working. It is a 'myth'

So, summoning the wonderful wizard of dragonvale with magic wand in hand - and urging him to shake that thing like crazy of your breeding caves.

I will be in W.A next Thursday and I'm confident you will have one by then.
