I know how you feel. Im in the same boat. Have already sold one sun dragon this week and have two more in my hatchery!! But i really dont need 5 sun dragons. I know they make alot of money but im happy with the way my islands are now.

I too have another 48hr breed going on and have run out of enthusiasm for it cause they are always suns *sigh* Comr on backflip! Give us our moons!!!

Are you still on a break or have you been trying again by now?

I felt like I was going crazy trying to get any rare after my first Sun and then suddenly it was all Suns all the time, haha. There's almost always something to complain about though, eh?! hehe. Well, not right now for me actually ...I am pretty content finally - I'll just quietly work on my second Rainbow and Moon (until it takes too long, bwahaha).

My 48 hrs from sandstorm/storm turned out to be a moon. Kind of figured it would be. Now I have to wait 30 some hours to sell it. This is REALLY hard selling the rares by the way. I put the pair back in and of course ended up with 24 hrs! Blah! Darn Crystals! Lol

I know we've already discussed this a few times but it still makes me chuckle that some of us, me included, are already complaining about getting rares now *shakes fist at rares taking up breeding cave/nursery space*
I think most people complain about those darn Crystals after the first one though, blah! hehe

Someone said it's to do with the type of dragon... The more complex the dragon, the harder it is to breed. And you player level too... The higher your level the harder to breed what you want... It's poo really. but it wouldn't be as fun and addicting if you just got it every time... Lol!

Of course it's just my theory but it seems to make sense and be true from what I can tell (my brother recently started playing and he's had no problems breeding most of his dragons so far).


That reminds me - and this is to everyone - my brother's GC ID is dazz34 so feel free to add him if you'd like!
He might not be the best choice for a regular gem swapper but he'd appreciate more islands to visit and he may send a gem from time to time too (he just won't keep a list etc, haha)

Firstly, thank you for all the info I've gotten from this thread.

However I have a question, forgive me if it sounds basic but I've only been playing for a week.

What is the most economical way of reaching you 50 for the shrine?

Raise and sell the cheap dragons
Or
Breed the more exotic, raise & sell

I think it's a good question...

I believe in doing the hybrids too when you can saves a lot of time and coins/food as well. I used flower/poison for plant/fire shrines. Very quick breed and hatch times and you do 2 shrines at once.

I used storm/storm as much as possible for my cold/lightening shrines to do those 2 shrines at once.

I used earth/earth for earth in the end because I didn't have another shrine to work on but it goes very quick. I'm just getting to start working on water so not sure the best way to do that one yet unless I were to wait til I hit the next level for air shrine to do 2 at once again. Hope this info helps. :thumbs:

So that's where they all are, lol.

How can this be truly random? I'm thinking there has to be another factor that keeps some people stuck on a particular rare dragon. I'm almost tempted to copy your or VDL04's islands, maybe then I can finally get my hands on one of those suns. At the rate I'm going I will be able to save up my gems and buy one before my dragons pop one out for me, haha.

I'm also wondering if the breeding island really increases our chances to get a rare. Has anyone noticed any difference compared to the regular cave?

I wonder that too. It is so weird that many people got/are stuck with one type of rare repeating and repeating.

I also havent seen any major increase in getting rares, or any sought after dragon, when using my Epic cave. I have had an increase in getting rares since this last update but I've also been trying harder and the success has been spread between both caves - not from the Epic cave specifically. I wonder if it's just an increased probability simply because we have TWO places to try now, rather than one??

I just bred a fog dragon using sonic and storm!! Wtf!

OK so then there is only 1 element there which would be air...makes me think even more that one of the dragons (parents) you used to make either the sonic or storm possibly had a air element? I always want to believe the random thing but well....I don't know! Lol. I would also like to believe there is a method to this madness! Hahaha

OMG. I have a rainbow in the nest. I thought it was a crystal and looked again, and again and again. Woo Hoo. My first rainbow. I have no idea what pair I used. Lol

Have you tried switching up your dragons? When I got my first moon, I switched from Crystal/Bluefire to Bluefire/Crystal. I did it on a whim and got a 48hr. Got so exited that I bought gems to see what it was and thought it was well worth it when I saw my moon. Lol.

As for the epic breeding island. I've actually gotten about the same amount of rares from each island after the update. Either way, it's sure to increase your odds of getting a rare since you're breeding dragons twice as fast compared to just having one breeding cave. That's how I see it anyway.

Hey guys! I've been lurking here for a week or two, haven't had much to say, just taking in the info

Now however... I got my first 48h breed two days ago and it turned out to be a Moon! Got it from breeding a willow and quake! It was about time... Been playing for a couple of months. Good thing there's a thread like this that keep the fire going!

Funny, I just put my 4th moon in my park last night and was thinking I like the way the 4 of them look together and that I would now quit trying to get that elusive sun. Try for the 2nd rainbow instead and also finish up the shrines. Just now, for the heck of it, I changed my mind again and thought I'd give it one more shot...48 hr-breed with storm and mud. Figures! I almost hope it's NOT a sun now. This game is making me schizophrenic, lol.

Im still working on getting all my dragons to level 15 then ill start the moon hunt again

Oh wow, me too! hehe.
I'd say there is some method generally though...although it can be hard to see sometime, haha. Maybe they throw a truly random one in from time to time though , just to keep us from completely working it out/getting complacent.
