YAYYYY!!!!! I just got my FIRST 48 hr breeding time!! Not enough gems yet to speed it up to see the egg. I used Sonic on left and Storm on right.

Please hang on to that bluefire!!! I've been trying for almost a month to save enough gems from the colosseum every day to try to collect 100 gems to buy the bluefire. I would love to share dragons/gems with you...if the devs allow that in the update! (And the darn colosseum is onto me...I rarely get 5 gems from it anymore. )
I tried all the combinations suggested in this forum. The only rare I have acquired is the rainbow by following your gene theory. So...thank you again for that! My rainbow is now a Level 10 and I'm still so excited!! I have several friends but only one of them gifts me daily. So- it's taking forever to get to the 100 gems! Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get a bluefire before I get to the 100 gems. I can only keep trying...

I noticed you have a blue fire in the nursery! Yay! Congrats! What combo ended up working for you? I'm still holding onto the extra I have in case you or someone else wants it if we are able to gift/trade. I also have a feeling I may be breeding another right now. I'll know in about a hour.

Yes, I am soooooo excited!! It happened late last night and I was so exhausted I had to go to bed and didn't post to you. Guess what I tried to get the bluefire? The Gene theory!!! I thought it worked well enough to get my rainbow...so I tried it for a bluefire! I bred a fire + storm until I got another storm. Took that new storm and got it up to level 10. Then bred the fire (same one...the parent) with the new Level 10 Storm...and got a 12 hour time in the breeding cave!! At first I thought it was a moss (aren't they 12 hours, too?), but then realized it didn't have the right elements to be a moss. Of course, if it was truly a random game, I could have gotten anything. But I think there is something to the gene theory. It's worked for me...twice!!!. One for the rainbow the other for the bluefire. THANK YOU again for sharing that theory. I think by now I would have just moved on to other games that had a better success rate in moving forward. lol And you're very encouraging to all of us who are frustrated. I appreciate your positive attitude.

I hear ya there! I've been so tired lately but still I'm staying up to pass out gems. I may have to skip a night though and get it going in the morning...it's just getting later and later lol. OMG!!! I was thinking of trying that too to get some of the other rares I'm still missing! Good job and kudos to you! Yes, moss is 12 hrs too. I don't know if you know but you can go to dragonvale on wiki and look at the breeding/eggs and see all the eggs/hrs for them. Are you going to keep breeding them to see if you can get another rare (maybe sun or moon)? If so keep me posted. If the Seaweed/Firefly combo worked for both of us maybe it will work for me if it works for you. Your welcome. Anytime I can help, well that makes me happy to see others happy. Aww...thanks so much! I think I am going to take a break after today in passing out gems, too. I'm not sure how the clock ticks on the "once a day" gifting of gems...but I can't gift all my friends at the same time. Some are early morning, others late at night. And then working 5 days a week and living in the farthest north time zone...puts me out of synch with most other game players. I'm thinking if I let the gifts sit until all my friends' names appear as able to accept a gift...I can start from there at a time that is convenient for me. I think it's worth a try...
Thanks for letting me know about the breeding/eggs chart. I had printed a copy several months ago...but at that time there was no bluefire, sandstorm, or any of the new rares in that list. I think I had better update it. lol
I am going to continue using the gene theory to try for the rares that I still don't have: sandstorm, sun, and moon. Last night I put a Sonic + Storm in the breeding area...so I guess I'll see in a couple of days what I've got when the egg goes into the hatchery.

Which dragons did anybody use to get a moon dragon? I've been trying blue fire and crystal for a week now, but no luck so far

I used blue fire and bone. From memory it was only my second or third try.

To anyone trying for a rainbow dragon, I just got my first. After 35-40 tries of constantly breeding firefly left, and seaweed right, I got my 48 hour wait its my first rare and I'm so happy cause I was literally about to go insane from frustration.

Hello all...I've been following your posts and am beyond frustrated trying to get ANY rare dragons. I've tried all the combinations you listed so many times that I have a small booklet with all the info in it. I've decided since I live in North Pole, Alaska, that rare dragons have an exception to cold weather (it's currently 40 below zero here)!!! I befriended a couple of people on this thread, and have gifted them gems daily with nary a one returned. I have decided to buy the bluefire dragon and have been painstakingly saving my gems from the colosseum to reach the magic 100 gems mark to buy the bluefire egg. I never purchased a gem or money and I'm thinking the devs take exception that I haven't donated any money to their game. What do you think?

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I was having your exact problem up until today. Believe me, we aren't all lucky to get rates first, second try, but they DO come eventually. Just stick with the combinations we all provide Some 100% accurate Tried and tested (by me and close friends) combinations are: rainbow- breed firefly left, seaweed right. Sandstorm- breed air left, mud right. Bluefire- breed fire left, ice right, OR mountain right. Now All of the combinations were bred with both dragons at lvl 10. Also, you don't need to be lvl 20 to get rares but apparently it helps somewhat. Good luck and DON'T give up. They do come eventually

I think I am going to take a break after today in passing out gems, too. I'm not sure how the clock ticks on the "once a day" gifting of gems...but I can't gift all my friends at the same time. Lol I hear ya but don't know if that will work. I think it might only be 3 a day no matter what. Mine got really late after going to a late night movie then coming home and sending gems. But if I can't make it one night I'll just do it in the morning then try to keep it going in the morning from there after. Getting more than 3 in a day is what prompted me to start making a list so I can make sure that everyone that sends one to me gets one back. Your welcome. I forget to check too. That one seems to be updated pretty well. K, let me know what you come up with on the rares and genes. Yes! Lol another blue fire. I couldn't believe it with everyone having such a hard time.
