Do you give your device a name.

I've "christened" all my devices.
The PC's name is Aldebaran, my iPad 2 is called Alkyone, my Android's name is Asterope, my e-book's Elnath.

Am I the only one who likes this or is there anyone else doing the same?

I have three iPads, so giving each their own name makes it easy to tell them apart in iTunes on my computer.

I used to name my bikes, but they never stuck. Well, the names stuck, I just don't use them.

Naw...I don't feel the need to name my iPads. They know who they are...and they are with my constantly. They are high on my "getting used list".

I wish I had an easy way to measure which device actually gets used the most. For my bikes, I would track mileage...so after a few months, it because obvious who wasn't getting any attention so I would switch over. After a while, though, I found I actually had favorites! Still can't bring myself to sell one...maybe oneday...to get even more "devices".

Nope, no christening. Champaign is expensive and hard on electronics.

I do give my devices (unimaginative) simple names like (MyName)Pad or (MyName)Phone so I can tell them apart from each other when backing up and such.

I used to be slightly more imaginative. I had an orange iBook (older mac laptop) named AgentOrange.

My first iPod nano was deemed "Jamie's iPod of DOOM" by my hubby when he set it up for Christmas morning opening. We thought that was cute
So then my second iPod, a touch was called "Jamie's touch of DOOM".
Then I got an iPad 2 and I called it "The Duece". And then I sold it and got a 3 and called it "The Duece Part du"
My oldest son changes his device names all the time, right now his Kindle is named "Dr Doffenshock"

Speaking of bikes, I am a huge bike fanatic and name all my bikes:
Road bike is "Roo"
Fat bike/snow bike is "Pugs"
Fixed gear track/beer run bike is "Duke Terd"
Mountain Unicycle(yes, one wheel!) is "Conundrum"
