Default email address?

I have four email addresses with different services. I use my icloud.com address when I send emails to friends but sometimes the Apple Mail app sneakily uses one of the other addresses of mine. Is there a way to make my icloud address the default?

You can set your default email address by going to the Mail App in settings, then to accounts. It is the last but one setting under that.

Thanks. I just checked that and my iCloud account is set as the default.
Mail still selected virginmedia though for two emails I sent out this morning. Why would it do that?

My understanding is that Apple Mail used the default when sending a new email, however when replying it will use the email address the sender used.

I suppose it is possible it's gotten smart/dumb enough to send using the email address that the addressee normally uses to reach you, even for new emails.

Normally this is a good thing, as you probably don't want people who know one of your email address to know your other addresses.
