Cracked ipad

My daughter's boyfriend gave my missus a "cracked" 64GB 2nd gen iPad. Me. Being an old nerd,tried to restore it so that wifey could "make it hers"not appenin, iTunes icon and plug appears on iPad screen.HELP!!

Given that you don't really know the history of that iPad, my recommendation would be to follow the steps outlined in f4789y's post here: http://www.ipadforums.net/jailbreak...lsafe-method-restore-current-version-ios.html

You can skip step 2 as its not needed in your case. Then, if you follow the instructions, exactly, you should end up with a stock iPad2 running iOS 6.1.
