If you’re someone that likes combat strategy sims then good news today with the release of Battlefront.com’s Combat Mission: Touch, which sees you commanding American and German troops during and after the invasion of Normandy, in June 1944, mixing fun and realism for a unique, hands-on 3D wargame experience. The WeGo turn-based play mode of simultaneous planning and execution phases combines with the vast 3D environment to mix fast-paced action with strategic play, with the end result being the sort of feature-filled and truly immersive wargame that was previously only available on a desktop computer. In the course of the game you’ll get to command historically accurate vehicles and infantry units such as the M4 Sherman tank or the German Panther tank. Play modes include solo and head-to-head online. Other features include the ability to watch and replay every detail of the action from any angle, as well as realistic ballistics and armor penetration algorithms.
Unfortunately the game is only compatible with the iPad 2 and the new iPad, as the original iPad is not powerful enough to run it.
