I have used this with success. There is also a program called drop box which works or there are services such as box net or google where you can store files upload able for sharing and access off off iPad, computer and even mobile devises.
The reviews of you app that you choose are not available as either it is to new or not enough users to date but that does not disco tend its usefulness. All I am saying is if it's ones not working there is a sea of other which maybe available to you.

In the case of Presence I can access my Mac desktop or its entire file structure, while with File Connect I have access to all files on either my Mac or my PC. Both apps work well regardless of where I am in the world.
