Calendar deletes entries newly added to prior dates

New user-thanks for any help! When entering calendar events preceding the current date, they initially show up, but as soon as I enter another or go to the current date, they disappear. This is unrelated to any syncs already discussed on this forum. Suggestions?

Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars: Under the calendar section see how far back you've set event syncing. It can be set as low as 2 weeks, and if you enter an even further back than this settings it will be removed from the iPad the next time it syncs online (which is frequently when it is open).

Fear not, your events are not gone. Just set the syncing to a longer period, or to All Events, and they will magically re-appera.

My calendar has deleted all my entries and I really could do with being able to refer to past appointments, I tried the all entry sync and the entries are still lost, can you make any suggestions? Would the fact that the pad freezes quite a lot and it is brand new?
