I have used a couple of different stylus's, started with pogo, moved to boxwave and most recently the nomad brush...
On to the best painting stylus on the market. (In my opinion and that of EVERYONE i know who has tried it) ..
...

The Nomad is amazing. I like it for painting more than drawing, though. I like to use a combination...like my basic drawing with a chop stake or boxwave, then the painting with nomad. Oh, arctic is another good stylus, particularly for on the go...it has a screw on aluminum cap and leather case, and performs much like boxwave.

This is a sampling of paintings I did in ArtRage with boxwave, nomad brush, and chop stakes (this last is a set of two you can use with one hand to pinch and so on...I really like to use one for painting). I like and use all of these.

Wow, that is IMPRESSIVE!!

Hi all. I found this video on how to create a stylus with a sponge, a cheap ballpoint pen barrel, and a piece of wire. The video is posted on CNet and I can'tpost links yet. I did a slight modification to the design.
The only thing I did differently is that I used a piece of sheer panty hose around the sponge to help shape it and hold the shape. The result works as good as any stylus I have tried so far.

What's the best stylus to emulate brush strokes? I've been searching for a brush stylus and a glove. Found a glove at thehandglider.com, now I need a great stylus.

A lot of people have recommended the nomad brush.

I think that the best stylus out there for the iPad would be the Adonit jot stylus. I have been using this for quite a long time already and though it is a bit pricey when compared to the other styli out in the market, this will surely be the top of the class with its precision and great form factor.

Anyone of you guys using it as well? I would not be surprised if a lot are on it already.

I can't imagine any stylus with a smooth bottom being able to compete with an actual brush for painting. The Nomad Brush mimics real painting. I love it!

I love my nomad brush, too...but it has a really soft tip, which is fabulous for some things and a drawback for other things...which is why I like to use a combination of my favorite styli in my artwork.

I've been surprised to this point no one recommended the Jot. Very small ballpoint type tip with disk. Best of all the styluses I've found. I do love mine--metal with metal screw on cap.
