Archived mail - where does it go and can I get to them

I have an archived button on my mail screen and I inadvertently sent a couple mail messages there, how do I recover those emails? Anybody know? It is located where the delete button is normally located. When I choose to delete several emails at once I am given a choice of archive or move. Any suggestions?

I found it once... my gmail does that. I think I went to the gmail account, not the inbox, then I could see all my folders and the archived messages were in the"all mail" online inbox. I THINK.
