You are in a room which has 2 doors which lead to the exit. There are two other individuals with you. One is a knight who always tells the truth and the other is a knave who always lies. Behind one of the doors is a hungry lion ready to pounce upon and eat anyone who gets out through that door. The other door leads to the real exit. You don't know who the knight is and who the knave is but they know themselves very well. What such question can you ask any of them so that you know which door to get out from to reach the real exit?

Below is the answer that I got from GI (the lovely Yana). I asked about the visiting friends and gifting problems and about the changing time issue...my summary of the response below, is that things might get sorted in the next update (whenever that is), and, don't change the time on your device for fear of being penalised. I suppose that there is nothing new here.
To try to be fair and balanced, GI did get my iPad game fully restored within 3 weeks when it crashed so I do have to give them some credit for that.

Our engineers have been informed and are taking necessary measures to troubleshoot the problem. Anticipating your question on the time when the issue is completely resolved I would like to let you know that it is expected to be eliminated in the upcoming update.

As for your time cheating problem, we have it all scored on the server, therefore we cannot make a difference if you change the time (by hours) you will be declared a cheater by default.

We would like to bring to your attention the fact that changing system's clock time or date affects the game. In this case changing system date and/or time is cheating and it is not allowed to do while playing the game as you can get unfair advantage doing so.

In order to avoid such situations we strongly recommend you to close the game when you want to change system date/time on your device and open it again only after you complete all the changes.

To exit the game in the right manner, press the "Back" button on your device and confirm exit by pressing "Yes" if your device platform is Android.
If your device platform is IOS, press Home button on your device and the application will get folded. After that press Home button twice and the panel with launched applications will pop up. Press the game icon and hold it until the icon starts vibrating and press "-" sign to close the application. To hide the panel press Home button again.

Please, note the fact that any changes should be done using the Time Zone option. If you change date/time manually it will affect the game and you will receive a warning message.

That all seems to make sense, but my problem is that I never touched the time settings and I didn't travel either. GI told me again today that tis is the reason for my troubles but it didn't happen. How am I going to prove something like that?

And Barbara, she changed the time just once when she travelled. How is that fair?

The original question that I asked was exactly that (i.e. what will happen if the iPad automatically changes the time). As there was no definitive answer that I could understand, and being of a cautious nature, I have now set my iPad so it doesn't change the time automatically. I will live with the device having that wrong time for the duration of holidays etc. I still don't really understand what major advantage you could gain in changing the time, apart from perhaps speeding up flights etc. I guess that if you did this, it could get screwed up when you revert back to the proper time??

I never thought I was particularly unlucky but I might have to rethink that at this point in time.
And it's really cute for GI to say it's only a game, but they charge real money for it!

On the other hand I have pretty much given up on getting my old game back. But I will say that these unfair restrictions for a lot of people have taken a major part of the fun out of the game. GI says they have tested the cheating default function and it works great. Well, we have seen a lot of these 'thoroughly tested' functions in the past. Maybe some of them didnt work so great after all....

I'm not attacking you personally Nutty, I'm just really frustrated with GI
