What's new

7.1 update

The theory was it would be out in time for SXSW.

Me too...on my phone for now. I have a lecture to give on my iPad mini so I'm going to hold off on that one...

Its supposed to fix the problem with crashing amongst other things so fingers crossed.

It's a fairly big update, 1.4GB.

Now is the time when jail breakers have to be very careful with their jailbreak, as iOS 7.1 patches the exploits used by the iOS 7 jailbreak.

My mini shows something different:

Mine was on the order of 143 MB on my iPhone 4S, but it is taking quite a while and my phone is warm through the case...

I didn't notice how big the file was, It didn't take long though.

So far, it looks, feels, and acts exactly the same.

I will see later if it has helped the crashing problem and report how it goes.

My iPhone 5S is on iOS 7.1 beta 5 so the update size displayed is what you get if you do the update through iTunes on your computer. It's necessary when updating from beta software to the public release version.

I've learned something new, thanks!
I hope I'll remember it next time when there's an update and I get a different size than your screenshots show.
