    I doubt anybody uses it but my guess its to look for burst pixels or whatever. Does anyone know for sure? curious like the cat.

    Often times it works well for reading in low light conditions, when not wanting to disturb others :)

    My hubby reads in bed at night white on black.
    No more trying to sleep ,with his bed side light on.
    It's great
